"Seems you have a lot on your mind, Hikaru. You want to know something of course? There aren't many sources for you to choose from. Mayhap Jeroyva knows more than you think. For someone such a young age, he has a brilliantly sharp mind,"said Ai, striding towards Hikaru.
"Maybe it is also well to move along. If you are being trained under the professor, you should not miss a lesson. Geomancy is very important and crucial to many of us on Karshaw, no?"

Ai walked silently towards the area of the cave she had thought movement was from, and her wisps of white hair blew behind her. Hikaru was left alone, and unharmed.

Hikaru looked after the white mage and tried not to feel hurt.
She would have talked back but she was wasting time here already.

Of course she knew the boy knew more things about the island than her. What she knew was the people. She was social and talked to almost everyone.

But the white mage was right about one thing. She shouldn't miss her practice.
Well, then, she thought. Let's search the easy way.
Spreading her legs apart shoulder length, she closed her eyes and searched for big sorces of darkness. She found four. Grimacing, she head back to the professer's place. She would have to search more for smaller sorces later.

((I'll make my entrance later. Sorry, no time!))

"So, do you have any other students, I mean besides the three of us?" asked Jeroyva.
"One other," said the Professor. "Hikaru. Though it looks like she's late. I'll teach you and Maria the basic information right now."
He took a staff and pointed it outside the door, toward the sun. "I don't need a staff anymore, because of how much I've mastered geomancy, but you will probably need to." He gripped the staff harder. "You have to concentrate on directing the flow of energy into your staff, or else you won't be able to redirect it. Think of your staff not as a catalyst for your own magical power, but aa a container for the world's magic. That's why anyone can use geomancy; it requires no magical skill of your own. Even though this is white magic, light, even you, Maria, can use it."
Maria stepped outside and repeated what the Professor had shown her. Her staff glowed white and yellow. "Should that be happening?" she asked. "Your's was a concentrated spot of energy."
The Professor didn't answer, but instead watched as Jeroyva attempted it. He failed to draw the energy. He grabbed his sister's staff, and instantly the glow became a concentrated beam, which he shot out at the ground. "We're both half-good at it," he said.
The Professor replied, "You'll pick it up."

Hikaru ran along quickly, reaching her destination in no time.
Before entering the clearing where they were practicing, she whipped up a tiny fireball. Guessing that Stijn would find her out again, she stuck a message in it simply saying "Hi.", and sent it zooming swiftly toward his ear.

Hikaru skidded to an halt before she stepped on Zen.
"Now, what do you think you're doing?" She demanded, but her eyes were sparkling. "Let me guess, you crashed into the tree again?" Dragging him up, she walked over to the others.
"Professer, looked what I found. And sorry to be........." She had just checked her watch and noticed the time left until their attended time. Well she was late for this....surprising........ gathering. "Late." she finished, took a glance of what they were doing in what they were doing, and walked into the house. A minute later, she reappeared holding a sheathed sword.
"The professer made it for me so I could channel magic through it." She explained. Hikaru frowned at it as flames ran up from the tip. It disappeared completely in the flames, and as the flames disappeared instead of a sword, there was a mage's staff. She looked just as surprised as everyone else. "I did not know it could do that." She said looking up at the professer.

In her haste to get ready, she nearly crashed into Maria.
"Oh, sorry...." Wait a second. That would be...
"You must be Jerovya's sister. Hello! I'm Hikaru. Sorry to bump into you." Hikaru smiled, holding out a hand and hoping that the professer would not be mad at her for doing this during the lesson. Many teachers would have been, but probably not the professer.

The fireball was absorbed into hsi staff, sending the message into his mind. That was what at least 3 sets of runes on his staff were for, there were quite a few more yet. "Hello to you too. Why'd you tell the good theif here that the Professer had no students?" He asked her accusingly, then smiled. Another set of runes glowed and summoned a mote that was nearly bursting with power. It channeled a bit of the power into Stijn and dissapeared again. "All set." he said to no one in particular.

Hikaru frowned at him although her eyes were dancing.
"Darn. Maybe I should try wind next time?"She shook her head and continued. "You never told me. And I never did say he didn't have any students, I just informed Jerovya that he doesn't take very many. I think." Hikaru knew very well how easy it was to guess that Stijn was also learning from the professer.

"Jerovya, I'm guessing you know the way around the island pretty well. Could you show me where something are later?" She added quickly, her eyes flitting around the place.

"Hmm...how strange, another mage. But-this time a red mage."
Ai wondered about it for a while, then concluded that this mage was definitely one of the professor's students. In fact, it was quite simply Stjin. Ai wondered if she should turn back to go see him, he was another mage she knew quite while...and it would be interesting to see how many runes he had now.

[[I might be just slightly inactive due to Werewolf XXI, where signups are over, by the way.]]

Maria looked around. Were these all people Jeroyva had met just yesterday? That was good; no matter what the result of this war was, if she lived or if she died, she would have made a lot of new friends forever. She drew more light into her rod and continued to try to make a beam out of it.

Fri Jan 26, 2007 12:09 pm

Zen got up, and asked what Jerovya was doing in the professors house.
-He didnt even teach me geomancy, why is he teaching you?
With that, Zen pondered for a bit.
-Say, are you in a quest for peace or something?-he asked again.

Wed Jan 31, 2007 12:31 am

The Professor looked over at Zen. "I'll take you as a student," he said, "if you know my other students."
Jeroyva nodded, as if to say, "Why yes, I do know him." Then he spoke: "Our purpose isn't simply training, Zen. You'd better be prepared to spend a lot of time not training. We're... here because we want to end this war."

Wed Jan 31, 2007 3:32 am

Hmm... so taht's what they're up too. Fair enough. Convenient for me that they haven't made me pledge my allegiance to this, I might still be able to use the war for my own gain while still working toward this group's goals... Stijn had to adjust his plans, but this could consideralby work to his goal of healing the islands. Stopping the war would help, but was not nessesary, which was why he hadden't tried yet. "Say Zen, out of curiosity, how do you speak in hyphens?" Stijn asked offhand, rearranging the plans in his head.

Thu Feb 01, 2007 12:57 pm

"Well, we all want peace in the bottom of our hearts soo... I guess Geomancy will only help that dream come true..."-said Zen."and a bit of training never hurt anyone, right? "And Stijn, what are you talking about?"-Zen got confused...

Mon Feb 19, 2007 11:42 pm

"Hmm? Oh, nevermind. Must have been something floating in the air." said Stijn. "What's our lesson for the day, proffesor?" he asked.

Tue Feb 20, 2007 7:04 pm

Jeroyva looked around. Quite a large number of people. That would help. But so many people skilled in geomancy... What if the enemy, whoever that was, gained these skills? Not much of a worry, though. Geomancy wasn't destructive magic.
"You seem worried," commented Maria.
"Of course I'm worried," said Jeroyva. "Who wouldn't be when they're this over their head?"
