Ridiculously hot.

If I think the weather is hot then for sure it is. It nearly hit 53C last week in it's high point.
Right now though it's getting cooler since in recent weeks the temperature is dropping, so 37C is cool enough for me to go galavanting on horse back in the boonies. :P

To all those going through Hurricane Gustav, best of luck.
My uncle finally recovered from Hurricane Ivan about 5 months ago and he basically lost what's left of his hair when he heard Gustav was coming his way.

Rainy.....like it has been for the last 3 months. Florida is no longer the sunshine state :(

Where are you in Florida, Callie?

Here it's barely rained at all since Tropical Storm Fae.

Cept it's gonna start hitting New Orleans in about an hour or two.

I can't say I'm upset that it's not going to hit us. I was a bit worried for a day or two there...
However, we now have all our hurricane boards labeled. They weren't before. And some were missing, so we discovered that on Friday and my husband made ones for the windows that didn't have 'em. :)

Yeah, you should start getting some rain from it though. (I'm in College Station)

Hm. Somehow, I'm doubting it.
It's currently very sunny, and only a bit windy.
<shrugs> At least my holiday isn't ruined by rain! :)

Hmm, it's getting cloudy and windy here though (I live near NW Houston, near Cypress). I think my family has given up on trying to fend tropical storms. We just let them brush over our 20+ year old house. I hope my flight isn't delayed tomorrow. (flying back to Georgia for college)

Hm. Looks like the weather channel has changed the projected path again. We might get some of the south side of the storm over the next few days, but it looks like it's mostly going to be over Trinity Bay (whew!) so I doubt I'll be getting much, since I'm down in Clear Lake. ;)
I hope your flight isn't delayed!!

Hurricane Ike is coming to Houston on Friday.
I get my wisdom teeth out in Houston on Friday.
This is getting annoying.

It's pretty much burning outside in my standards. I can barely breathe in the heat. Then again, I always wear a purple jacket to and out of school.
Though, we did have a lot of rain on the weekend. I'd prefer a drizzle at the moment.

Looks like it won't be here until Saturday, if it comes. They're expecting we'll start getting rain from it Friday night or Saturday morning whether it hits us directly or not.

However, they have started mandatory evacuations of people along the coastal areas near where I live.

Looks like it'll be a "fun" weekend.

Edit: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200809_model.html#a_topad The blue line that is currently going straight up Trinity Bay scares me.

It's a bit rainy outside and most likely, there will be more rain. Rain makes reading books less easier.

If this is too personal, you can PM me or not answer, but where in Clear Lake do you live? There are a lot of areas that are better protected against flooding. I'm studying the storm surge prediction maps now.

EDIT: Screenshot of where my family lives:

NOAA Storm Surge map (Automatically updates):

It looks like I have a 5-10% chance of getting a 5 foot storm surge. That's NOT GOOD.
