Happy Independence day, indeed. Here's hoping that my neighbors don't do anything stupid with their fireworks again, and we don't have a fire to deal with. I reallllly don't like the fireworks laws around here.

ETA: Shockingly enough, for the first time in years, they did not shoot off any fireworks last night. Probably because their backyard is in a messy state of attempting to get a pool installed (since before New Year's, yes) and they only just filled the pool yesterday but there's nothing but mud around it. Hm.

Nice that your neighbors did not shoot off any fireworks this year. Someone in our area decided that 12:01am on 7/4 was a great time to start. Nevermind that they are super-illegal in our town. Someone else(?) was still doing them at 11:59pm+ as well.

We have a state law that local noise ordinances be darned, people are allowed to set off fireworks until 2am (I think) on the 4th (technically 5th). (Although when the kids in the state tried to get a kids' "bill of rights"/"right to recess" bill passed, the same governor said that localities know best... I guess that's only true when the localities agree with you?)

The fireworks cut-off is 9pm tonight, but I'm sure it won't be enforced, since it hasn't been for the week preceding the 4th. Thankfully we've had storms everyday, so the fire risk is low, at least.

Managed to IP ban myself from PinkPT yesterday... lol

Good thing is, I have done this enough times to (a) know that I did it*, (b) have multiple IP's that I can use, (c) remember what to google to remember where to un-ban myself.

*The first time I did this, I thought the site was completely down/vanished because when you're IP banned, the site is 100% "gone", including the higher level admin stuff. i.e. you cannot get in to fix it from the IP you are using. This time, I knew when it happened, exactly what happened. But, I did not bother to fix it until today. Too much going on yesterday.
