I am a fan of the original series and have been ever since I was a child (yes, I did watch horror movies as a child). After the recent slew of remakes/retellings of horror movies from the 70s and 80s, I knew one would be coming out for Friday the 13th.

With that in mind, I am actually looking forward to next year's take on Friday the 13th. I know some people are probably not, but I am excited for it. I love the original and am happy they kept Jason looking fairly the same. I am also excited that it stars Jared Padalecki, who I am a fan of. There are some other actors in the film I like (such as Ryan Hansen (smurf from Veronica Mars). The trailers I have seen for the film (both versions) actually look decent and thumbs up for making the movie have an R rating, as it would have been awful for it to be rated PG-13.

Oh and I am also excited for the reworking of next month's My Bloody Valentine as I also like the original of that (plus the original is Canadian) and the trailer looked good. Plus, it has Jensen and comes out the day after my birthday (a day after Supernatural returns), and it is in 3D which could work well.

Anyone else excited or peeved about these two films coming out?

I'm not overly peeved per se about this film coming out.
I watched the originals, not all of them - but most.
To me, the entire idea of a remake - or a continuing on of the story.. just kind of reads that the film makers are greedy, and are having no original thoughts.

So many movies in the past five years, even ten - are remakes of other movies.
Or additions to a movie which made a lot of money.

Needless to say, I will probably still watch Jason.
