Hearing Patrick Stewart as Yupa in the dubbed version of Nausicaä was the most awesome thing ever.

Wonderful movies.I just wish I could have gotten that stupid VCR to work, and that I could have stayed up to watch Castle in the Sky again. Wonderful movies. I can't wait for next week.

Arrrg I missed the Patrick Stewart invasion of Nausicaa because a new That 70s Show was on XD I did watch the dubbed Castle in the Sky (which was ok, dub-wise. Anna Paquin decided on this weird accent for no reason and James Van Der Beek.... WHY). But I was calmed when I watched the subbed Nausicaa. Ahhhh :)

You could always do what I do and tape them to watch them later like I do (or support the Ghibli releases by buying the DVDs.)

Oh my! This is great. I've always been a HUGE fan of his films.
To my knowledge two thursdays have passed before I heard of this.
Can anyone tell me what I've missed?.
I already have his most popular collection on DVD-- except Totoro.

I'm in US Central, so can you tell me when the "latenight" subs are on?
I dislike english voice-overs and prefer the japanese still be present.
Afterall, Totoro is 100x cuter with hyper, screaming little japanese girls. < 3

I really want to see Whisper of the Heart.

The sub showings are right after the the first screenings of the films for the night (which are shown dubbed.) Since the running times vary, check the TV guide for your area for the exact times (they're shown at eastern time.)

That's the problem. For whatever reason, our newspaper has stop giving out TV guides for going on 4 months now. So I'm afraid I can't check, unless the times are posted on the website-- which so far I don't see unless I missed something.

Just check out the schedule on the TCM website: http://www.turnerclassicmovies.com/schedule/index/

I'm sooo happy they showed Totoro last night ^___^

Watched Porco Rosso for the first time thanks to TCM, and that was pretty good too. Whisper of the Heart was not quite up to par though, especially next to Totoro and Porco.

My sentiments are aligned to Chanel's, in regards to what she said in the above post.

I was expecting significantly less intrigue than the previous Miyazaki films aired the last two weeks, but I found myself almost as, if not as, engaged watching the first two of this week.

I stayed up until 5:30 am last night watching all the subtitled versions. :D
I love Totoro so much. It made me smile so big in the end. <3 Totoro!~

As far as Whisper of the Heart, I know what you mean when someone said
it wasn't up to par. It was cute, but the ending was a little off. Unless it was
just the english subtitles. The whole West Virgina song made me laugh when
I heard it coming on. Who expected that in the middle of Tokyo?. It actually
sounded rather pleasant when they sung it in Japanese though. Very odd.

These films are so incredibly absorbing. I didn't notice the five hours from last night.
The characters and the art are so amazing.
I have now seen six of these movies and I'm having a lot of trouble deciding which is my favourite. Porco Rosso was great, but Whispers of the Heart was great too. Then I think of the two from last week and Princess Mononoke and ... argh! They're just all too good.

I can't wait for next week.
And I really wish I could record stuff off this stupid sattelite.

I caught the last 5 minutes of dubbed Nausica, and the dub of Castle in the Sky. Both were amazing, it was the storyline, rather than the art(which is amazing too!) that realy draws you in.

Spirited Away airs agian on the 25 of March!
