Details may be revealed in future posts, but my post at least only lists the matchups, not the details or the outcome. However, some people want to find out on their own what the matchups for the series' they like to watch are instead of being told it here, or something like that, hence this warning.

For this topic you list your favorite fights of any anime or manga and detail what you liked about them or other such things relevant if you please.

Some favorites I recall:

Shinji vs Kaoru - Evangelion - Eva knife fight to Ode to Joy.
Eva-01 vs 14th Angel - Evangelion - Everything goes to heck very quickly.
Eva-01, Eva-02 vs 7th Angel - Synchronized fighting!
GP-01 vs GP-02 - 0083 - Blocks the beam saber with his foot!
Ranma vs Akane vs Shampoo in Martial Arts Takeout (manga version) - Ranma 1/2 - The fact that Kunou was the target is funny enough.
Ranma vs Kodachi in Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics (anime version) - Ranma 1/2 - First episode I saw. 'Ranma attacks with a table! And Kodachi counters with her brother!'
Ranma vs the monkey in Martial Arts Tea Ceremony (manga version) - Ranma 1/2 - The fact that monkeys are involved makes it all worth it.
Ranma vs Herb (manga version) - Ranma 1/2 - Ranma vs a dragon!
Mew vs Mewtwo - Pokemon movie 1 - Satoshi died! Yay!
Omnimon vs Diaboromon - Digimon movie - Cool. Just cool.
Piccolo vs Android 17 - Dragonball Z - Best fight of the series.
Gokou vs Tien Shin Han - Dragonball - Very cool.
Gokou vs Piccolo - Dragonball - Caused Piccolo to be born.
Gokou vs Piccolo - Dragonball - Final battle of the series.
Kenshin vs Saito - Rurouni Kenshin - Saito is sooooo cool.
Huey vs Bushido Brown - Boondocks - So damn cool!
Jack vs The Scotsman - Samurai Jack - Birth of a friendship.
Jack and the Spartans vs the robot bull hordes - Samurai Jack - One of the best total warfare battles ever.

Those are all I remember with a sleep-deprived brain. Enjoy! (PS: Some American shows have made the list due to great stories and art direction.)

How could I forget that one! That was one of the best ever! Asuka vs all the evil Evas with seconds to fight each. That was one of the few times I liked her.

In the end of CoS, when the military goes up against the massive army of the armor with souls. And then Ed's showdown with the evil blonde nazi woman. It was all so cliche, but at the same time fantastic.

Ed vs. Roy in FMA episode 13; that was just awesome.
Ed vs. Dante. Well, actually, anyone beating up Dante makes me happy.
Roy vs. Bradley. Self-explanitory.
Ranma vs. Kodachi. "Use of brother, VALID!"
Yoh vs. Ren - Tournament fight
Yoh vs. Hao, last episode of SK
Ren vs. his three cousins. I swear, that was the funniest half hour of my life. I only saw the dubbed version of it too, so it was basically five people with high-pitched British accents screaming at each other.
That fight with Ren vs. The Mexican Guy where Ren died.
Hao vs. the X-Laws, because all the X-Laws got killed

That was the one I was going to post as well.

Between the fight itself and the revelation about her mother, I consider that to be Asuka's greatest moment. I never saw her stronger...which made the outcome all the more sad.


My other favorite battle is also in Eva but you can only see it in the Director's Cut. The added scenes in Rei vs. Armisael were just totally mind blowing and brought a whole new angle to the fight that you would only see otherwise in the manga.

Black Lagoon - Revy vs Psychopathic killer maid (think terminator)

Well, when I think of amazing fights, I think of Battle Royale. Sooo...

(Pssst, HUGE spoilers for Battle Royale manga.)


Shinji vrs. Kiriyama. Granted it wasn't so much of a fight as it was a race. Shinji was internally bleeding, trying to ignite the bomb and getting pelted by rapid gunfire. Wicked crazy.
But the BEST was the fact that Shinji used DUCT TAPE to tape his organs up inside his chest. Sick. Absolutely sick. He went out in a blaze of glory, quite literally.

Takako vrs. Keita (was that his name? Keita Ijima? I'm tired and I can't remember.) Takako was vicious, and I love her. I felt a little ill when she pressed her fingernails into his eyeballs. Simply put, ouch.

Hiroki vrs. Kiriyama. Best. Fight. Ever. I love Hiroki, and how much heart and energy he put into his last fight was devastating. I was sobbing throughout the whole thing. I mean, dude, his fingers were gone, there was a makeshift arrow in his eye and the girl he loved was in danger. He knew he wasn't going to suvive, but he did all he could in an attempt to defeat Kiriyama so his friends could be safe. The spiritual side to it was amazing as well. Ugh, and when he finally died, how the panel just turned black seemed to perfect. I give amazing props to the manga artist simply for that scene.

The final fight between Shogo/Shuuya/Noriko vrs. Kiriyama was INSANE. (Hmmm, I sense a Kiriyama theme here.) Oh man, I don't care how much a slobbering fan, but ahhh! In cars, on foot, Shuuya running out of ammo, Shogo finding the gun back from way back when, Noriko standing in front of Shuuya to protect him. It was breathtaking. Even if the last kill shot was drawn out for a good THREE CHAPTERS, it was still memorable.
