Liam Aiken must die. That's all there is to it.

I love that series, I have all 11 of the books so far. Anyone know when the 12th book is out?

The latest rumour is that book the twelfth is out in November entitled the Heinous hotel, which was actually my prediction for the title. So if that is true, I think I might go and buy a lottery ticket this week :p

I love this series of books, it's got just enough self-indulgent humour to really appeal to me.

Haven't seen the movie yet, I'm thinking of getting it on DVD, except that the general opinion seems to be that it sucks.

There'll be a twelfth and then a thirteenth, then it'll stop. It matches with the thirteen chapters in each book ;)

Hostile Hospital was a good book. They got a lot better after the Vile Village and the format was broken up.

The movie was alright- Klause and Violet were certainly nothing like I imagine them to be. Jim Carrey as Olaf wasn't as horrible as I'd expected- just the right amount of silliness, which was countered by his creepy-evil-cruel-greedy personality, heh.

The only really good thing about it was the credits. Ah, when I rented the movie, I played the credits over and over about twenty times, just drooling over the graphics and music.

And I still need to find a copy of The Grim Grotto- everytime I check my local library, it's checked out. Gah.

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

Yup.

That's why they're amusing. And actually, the cycle was broken at the end of the most recent book. If Lemony Snicket weren't a good writer, they'd be horrid, but I love his style. He makes me laugh at least twice a page.

Alex, I love the definitions. Once, I believe it was in The Slippery Slope, he went completely around in a circle and ended up with the first word he defined.

Wow, how did I never see this thread.

The release date for the 12th book is up on Amazon. Here is the quote from Amazon:
Quote:
Availability: This title will be released on October 18, 2005. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.

The site is here if you would like to see for yourself.

I think it is going to be ____ Hotel. But the book is going to have Hector in it too. The picture in the back of the grim grotto has the Self Sustaining Hot Air Mobile Home in the background, and if you look at the pictures in the back of each book, there is something in that picture that is in the next book. Book 12 IMO is going to be the book that gives us the most information so I'm really excited :)

The're a pretty good read, and I can't wait to read the 12th one. I remember in one books he started off a chapter talking about deja-vu and the page right after that one was the same exact page, and somehow I didn't even notice, and kept on reading, obliovous until one of my friends told me about it.

Now that you guys said so many things about it, it seems funnier. =P My friend lended me the first one of the series, but I didn't get into it. I found it boring and very very depressive, which I didn't like.

I read all the books up to the Vile Village but i got bored and stopped. The movie was horrid. I mean i liked Jim Carey and how he portrayed Count Olaf but it was out of order and some parts werent even in the books.
