Dr Suess did rock... I liked the way mum would muddle through the book, lol, I was an evil child.

I liked Grimms Fairy Tales, I had a big massive books that my dad would read to me.

Now, I get to do storytime for my work (I work in a library) I love books like Room on the Broom, and Gruffulo, and there's one called Little Bo Peep has Knickers that Bleep... really funny rhymes, and kids love it cos you say things like knickers. lol

Re: Favourite "little kid" book?

Sorry for resurrecting a old topic but I just want to speak about my favorite book as a little kid. (I also don't remember seeing this topic back when it was active since it was created 2 days after my last post in 2004 on the board and I was deeply into Neopets during that time as well as the fact that PPT was very active during that time.)

My favorite book when I was a little kid was The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. I loved how at the top of the tree was a ladder which lead the children to a different magical place every time they visited it because the land would "move on" from the top of the tree in order to make way for a new land. The children were free to come and go, but they had to leave before the land "moves on" or they would be stuck there until the hole comes back, they could get down by the ladder that was at the top of the tree.

Yeah this topic is 4 years old but it is the oddly only topic which I could find where we have talked about our favorite books that we loved when we were little kids that exists on the current PPT where all the others topics on this board are about our modern day favorite books.

Aww I loved books when i was little too.

The Very Hungry Catapillar and Brown Bear Brown Bear, were two of my Kindergarden favorites. I also loved Curious George books.

Amelia Bedilia was also another favorite. I'm not sure i had just one favorite above the rest.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, hands down. I was also a big fan of the various spin-offs.

I read Andrew Clements books...

I mostly read historical fiction like:

Fever
Island of the Blue Dolphins
(Lots more, but I can't list them all here.)

I wouldn't call them "little kid" books, but they are children books for 3-6th grade.
