[Gah, sorry I couldn't get online earlier on.]

The evil wizard's heart was black with sin. Although he suffered from many wounds, they would heal themselves slowly. It seemed he would not die, no matter how many blows he was dealt. Dankan prepared himself for the final blow that would decide it all - for either he or the wizard would die. He thrust his magical sword through the heart of the wizard and his beloved Sanria threw her magic at the same spot. There was a blast of light and then the wizard was gone - but so was Sanria, for no faerie could remain a faerie without her magic ...

Senya brought up a magical shield as quickly as she could. It was a weak one but it came up just in time. The curse hurtled towards it, breaking it into a million blue pieces. Before the wizard could throw another curse at her, he was distracted by the other things happening around him.

Now! Grabbing the sword, she summoned her courage, just as Dankan of the faerie tale she used to hear had done. "Look over here!" she shouted, turning the wizard's attention back to herself. His torso turned towards her - she lunged forwards, plunging the sword through his chest - falling backwards, the selkie began to concentrate all the magic she possessed into one great blue ball - and threw everything faerie that she had ever been at the wound. The sword trembled with blue light and shafts of light seemed to explode around it.

As she fell, Senya wondered if she had done it right. She could no longer feel any magic within her and she seemed more lost than ever, with no sealskin and no power inside her. She had sacrificed her entire magical being to kill the wizard just as the two lovers in that faerie tale had done. Surely it was right?

Her fears disappeared when she saw the wizard fall into a small, crumpled heap, most assuredly dead. His whole body turned black and no blood fell. His heart had withered and died long ago; it had no blood to shed. She smiled and drifted away into the darkness herself.

[Terrible way to kill the wizard but it's done now. Now as soon as the maddecs are dealt with (I'm afraid I can't help you here), everyone can write their little conclusion and the role play will wind up.]

Though Puk himself was no real match to so many unseelie maddecs, the black devil-like kelpie surely was. He was the mightiest kelpie of them all, at the height of his powers and strenght.

While Puk struck out, with his canine teeth, to a nearby unluckily maddec, he saw the wizard fall from the corner of his eyes.

The Each-Uisge shook his manes and the skies trembled, the sea grew wild and the wind took up with an incredible strenght. Sand blew around everywhere, blurring the sight and filling Puk's ears.

The maddecs in front of the Prince realized who he was and started to run away. Some were foolish enough to run in the direction of the sea, those were engulfed by the waves, now wild and covering a larger part of the beach.

It wasn't that long, before only few maddecs remained...

((Don't what to give him god-powers, but he is the prince of the kelpies. Besides, he will ask a big price for his help anyway. But tell me if I have to tune down. ;p))

The other maddecs dove to the very depths of the sea, desperate to run away from the kelpie prince. The beach became quiet with the breathing of the survivors.

[I wish to bring the role play ahead by two days (in-game time) on my next post. If there is anything you would like to do before that happens, though, please write it soon. If, after 24 hours from this post, there is no new post, I will re-post and we can bring the role play to a conclusion.

My next post will be an explanation of the aftermath, where you will have an opportunity to go back to a normal life, or whatever is to happen to your character.

The final post will sum the rest up.]

After all had retreated, they watched the lake refill from higher ground amidst the trees. It was an odd mix, but it seemed that all the faeries gathered were in some sort of good mood with each other. It had been a long day and the coming night would bring the moon again. Adelaine was recalling here tale of being an Alven seperatist prisoner, and the ugliness of the Jabberwocky. Her tale was met with much laughing as she told the happier parts of it, which were surprisingly numerous. Otterbrand was nowhere to be seen at first, those his younger siblings and their spouses cared for Senya and placed her with the human girls in hopes of her befriending them.

It was when the moon began to rise that a young Alven stared out at the lake, standing alone and chewing some other herb he liked to pick. He eyed some small white flowers in full bloom already under the moonlight. It was not quite a full moon any more, but the journey had ended. He had played his part and was satisfied with that. Ready to go back and lead his nation, he turned around, ready to take the long trip home without a word to anyone. But then he remembered when he had first seen Celetse, and his first step fell short. She was in the wagon with the strange book. He remembered not even noticing she was there at first, then addressing her kindly. For some strange reason, he wanted to repeat that moment as he stood there in his own awkward silence. He decided to walk into the camp everyone had set up. The mercenaries had left without a sign but some unmarked graves, so it was just them and the odd rangers that had contributed.

"Nobody!" one of the rangers shouted. A few heads looked up. "Bennet, you old human cur! We fae had things perfectly under control!" Otterbrand teased. Bennet, a bearded, long-haired human stood up beside one of the gypsy faeries. "I heard the old waterdog was a faerie from the missus and came straightaway to see if she was nuts. Good to see you again," Bennet said, laughing as he shook Otterbrand's hand. The human sat back down, leaving the Alven standing in plain view to the two campfires that were spread out. Otterbrand guessed that the second fire was surrounded by all the women who played a part in this, including a sister and a sister-in-law.

Celeste listened to her sister in near absolute peace. She was tired, very tired after the day's battle and her bout in captivity and such. Her voice was hoarse and raspy, she was glad her sister still had one to share with everyone. Celeste closed her eyes and listened to her sister's voice, losing herself in the soft life-filled hum that seemed to emanate from the Otherworld landscape now that things had been set right.

Absentmindedly, without really thinking about it, Celeste wondered if Adelaide wanted to return home or if she was happy here. Perhaps an even more pressing question was whether or not Celeste wanted to return home. Or was it even possible? In response to these dilemmas, oddly enough, Celeste just smiled a quiet smile.

Her eyes flickered open again and she found that she was staring straight at Nobody, across the fire. He was standing all alone. There was so much she didn't know about the mysterious young man. But he had done her a great service. She wasn't sure if he even remembered the one time she had thanked him during the battle.

The discussion had moved on from Adelaide's adventures, and Celeste quietly stood up and dusted herself off. She had to thank Nobody at least once more, and it looked like he was leaving soon. She wasn't sure how she could tell, she just could. And if a little conversation stemmed from her thanks, she wouldn't mind at all...

Faeries from the forest had come to celebrate, including a small village of devas. This didn't matter to the girl, though. Senya was relatively quiet and smiled sadly and spoke gently when spoken to. In the end, the others left her in peace, only asking her something occasionally. They understood that she was brooding.

It had been quite a surprise to the girl to find she had not died, after all. She had expected that sacrificing her magic would mean sacrificing her being. In a way, she had been right: she had lost her faerie self and was essentially a human now. An uncommonly beautiful human, but a human nonetheless. She gazed at her slender hand, remembering that she had slain a man -- an evil man, she reminded herself -- with it.

Senya supposed she would have to try and live a human life now. She was not sure if she meant to go to the human world and try her luck there, or if she would stay in the Otherworld.

The faeries had received word from the most powerful rulers of the Otherworld. The message had explained that the wizard had come to seek immortality by destroying faeries, and the maddecs had been all too willing to help them. Now the few remaining maddecs were being hunted down and would soon be exterminated forever. There was no doubt it would happen.

Other faeries who had been helping the wizard -- including the king of that part of the forest, who had been giving faeries to the wizard in return for a promise of power over the Otherworld -- were being rounded up and duely punished for their sins. It was hard to fathom exactly what this meant, but the girl didn't really care anymore. The traitors to the Otherworld would be punished rightly. That was all there was to it.

The most important part of the message, however, was something else.

To ensure that such a thing would never happen again, the faeries had agreed to remove the Otherworld from the human world. No human would ever be able to enter the Otherworld again, so those who wanted to leave must leave by the end of tomorrow. After that, they would not be able to come back.

Senya wondered what she would do. To remain in the Otherworld would be a constant painful reminder of the faerie she used to be. Humans often found it difficult to live in the Otherworld. How much more difficult for a faerie-turned-human? She would always remember the magic she used to do and wish she could do it again. In the human world, she would have a fresh start. On the other hand, the Otherworld was her home and birthright.

She sighed and excused herself, deciding to walk a little and thank the others that had helped her.

Spotting the centuar and a faerie with a wind bird perched on her shoulder, the girl approached them. Standing before them silently, she remembered how she had argued with them the night before. To think that so much would change...

"Thank you," she said at last.

Artemis stood near Espoir at the outskirts of the camp. She had rested for a while and listened to the tales of the others, however she knew she couldn't stay for much longer. She was a wanderer, as many Centaurs are, and this adventure was just one of the many she had experienced and was going to experience. She had no doubt that she would see the others again, maybe in a few years when she wandered back to this part of the Otherworld.

Artemis was startled out of her thoughts when a gentle voice spoke, turning her head to face down slightly she saw it was the young selkie... well, former selkie... who had spoken. Artemis frowned for a moment as she considered the poor creature's predicament. A selkie without its sealskin was like a centaur who was unable to wander. It just didn't work.

Suddenly, a completely random and slightly insane idea came to Artemis's mind. Turning around to fully face the creature she stared deep into her eyes before speaking, "Come with me?"

She breathed in sharply, almost unable to believe this prospect. The possibility of a way of life in the Otherworld, one that meant no one would remember her for long -- 'Where to?' she whispered, not daring to hope for too much. If she really could go with Artemis ...

Artemis smiled, "Anywhere and everywhere. We'll wander wherever we feel like wandering." She sighed slightly, just the thought of wandering again made her feel so wonderful!

Artemis then frowned, studying Senya's face worriedly, "Though I must warn you, it's not going to be easy, no doubt we'll have many more adventures like this, and we probably won't come back here for a long time. And I'll have to teach you how to fight. You never know who or what we might run into."

She then grinned widely, "But that's half the fun! We'll see things that others have only ever dreamed of, both good and bad."

Espoir sat, with Artemis standing next to her. Her best friend, the wind bird, was present, and its very presence was causing a cool breeze to blow through the area. Espoir closed her eyes, enjoying the wind. It had been two days since the entire ordeal. Since the fight. Since all that happened in the cave. Yet, it felt like it just happened a few hours ago.

Most of the faeries were celebrating now. Not Espoir. She had arrived in the lake cave only too late. She hadn't had the chance to chip in, to help. She didn't deserve to join in.

The selkie, who had exploded at them, came up to them and began talking to Artemis. As the duo talked, Espoir quietly listened in, not saying anything.

Artemis was asking the selkie to accompany her. Espoir supposed Artemis, like all Centaurs, was a wanderer, now and always. She silently wondered what it was like to be a wanderer, to never have a permanent home, to be free to do whatever they liked.

Gender: Female
The scarf over her newly-restored brown hair threatening to be torn loose, Ilmena leaned her head out of the carriage window, eyes closed, simply wanting to be in the sunlight as she reflected what had happened.

During the battle, she'd been knocked out- quite lucky, actually, as she'd been able to work her magic and bring in some (human-friendly) warriors from Imorna. She still wasn't sure how she'd done it, but she had a hunch that her magic was split into two categories, as, as soon after the wizard was killed, and she'd woken up, she'd found that she could do small tricks of persuasion against what was left of the vile creatures. Not only that, but the leader of the battalion from her homeland told her that they had been whirled away by wind, of all things, and had been sped off to the battlefield.

Her magic, while still mysterious, seemed to finally be working itself out.

The next time she'd gone to sleep, the girl found that her dreams were peaceful, void of all magic. Ilmena had her first peaceful night of sleep in years.

Shortly after, she'd found that Edwornd was one of the fairies she'd summoned, and he proceeded to excitedly hug her while telling her of everything that had happened since she'd left: a very long list of very pleasing events.

He and Kemieya were engaged, for one, and thankfully, no one had argued against it.

But when the two siblings returned to Imorna after the battle- aided by her newly-found powers with the wind, they both found, to their great joy and shock, that the best event had happened shortly after the wizard was defeated.

The civil war was over.

It had happened suddenly, Kemieya told them, tears streaming down her cheeks as she embraced Ilmena. It had been an hour away from what everyone knew would be the first true battle of Imorna's civil war, and without any warning, every creature that had sworn against humans and anyone who sympathized with them had suddenly surrendered.

Apparently, they were all saying that they never knew why they'd gone against the others in the first place.

Ilmena believed them, for she had seen the wizard's powers, and she knew how destructive hate could be. It would start out small, but would soon explode, spreading from person to person like a disease.

And now that the source was gone, the one who had started off this giant snowball, the one who powered it all, it ended.

----------------

Now faced with the choice to either stay in the Otherworld forever, or leave, with no chance of ever coming back, the human population of Imorna was divided.

Many were staying.

But many more were leaving, deciding to take their chances on Earth, where they knew, at least, that their species would be the majority.

Even some fairies and humans with magic were immigrating to the planet, to stay in known magical sanctuaries.

That was what Lady- for she was a Melyani Lady again, now that the war had ended- Ilmena of Imorna was doing.

She knew she could have stayed, but she felt that she didn't really belong, not even among those that she had shared her short adventure with.

The day after the battle, she had sought out and explained everything to all of the creatures she had been with- the gypsies, 'Nobody', Celeste.

She had told them about how, firstly, her name was not Eeta, it was Ilmena, yes, her hair really was brown, as it was now (she'd convinced her hair to restore itself back to what it had originally been), yes, that water fairy that kept following her around really was her brother...

And then the big truth.

She quietly told each of them that she was from Imorna. That she was nobility, that her brother would be the King one day. That she was the reason her entire country had fallen into a civil war.

That last one was one of the main reasons she was leaving the Otherworld. Ilmena knew it wasn't really her fault, but she couldn't stand to remain in Imorna, what with her conscience screaming that by wandering into the Otherworld as a child, she'd started a civil war.

She'd nearly killed, even if only indirectly, thousands of Imornians.

----------------

Ilmena had already decided where to go. While thinking back on everything that had happened, she'd suddenly found, buried in the recesses of her memory, one word:

Avalon.

She'd found out everything she could about it after that, asking every human she stopped by in Imorna about it.

And so, now knowing a great deal more about it, she was leaving the land that had been her home for so long, to go to a place she knew so little about.

Why?

Simple. She felt something pulling her there. She didn't know what it was, and to be honest, she felt it didn't matter. Destiny, fate, a calling from one of the Faye that inhabited the land... It would all lead to the same ending anyway.

And whatever that was, she didn't care.

((And yet another one of my infamously long posts. This one came about after my actually forgetting about PPT for a week. >_<

Oh! I forgot! When Ilmena gets to Avalon/Camelot/that area, she's going to change her name again, though she won't be the one to change it, but whatever, ze Faye are mysterious creatures.

Guess what her new name is going to be.

:D

I am so evil.))

Time seemed to fly by that evening. Nobody discussed the plans of the Alven, oddly, but it led to why his family cared for humans. Needless to say, the Alven race contributed a little to the ideal that humans were to be spared just by historical reasoning and the fact that half their lands were near human settlements. That very night, the Alven race gathered to make themselves known, filling the air with their flute music and bubbles. Nobody spake of how this was probably going on, but did not pride himself by speaking of his race helping the surrender of conflict towards humans take place by geographical advantage.

He casually revealed his name as Abberwocky Otterbrand, and introduced his younger brother, Yewbender, and sister, Clearwater (the sister having white hair from the wizard's lightning) and their beloved spouses (one of which was wearing an arm splint). He explained how this surviving family of four would equally help him rule the Alven as a simple people. It was then that he began to speak words that could be remembered word for word as he spake to Celeste.

"We need a third Princess at least, and I wanted her to be human, but the girl I loved left me for a ranger... which turned out not bad because that ranger helped save our hides." There was a human and faerie male laugh combined from the campfire behind the Alven gathered at this time. Otterbrand continued after enjoying its hearty sound. "Anyway, I was thinking I could find a pleasant witch, they tend to find refuge in our midst so often. I thought perhaps if not a witch, I could find a nymph at least, we seem to trade with them well. But something funny happened. Something unexpected. I fell in love."

It was then that Nobody (for people seemed to call him that even after knowing his name) quickly rested one knee on the ground like a human and held a ring up to Celeste. "Will you have me as your husband, Celeste?" The Alven society was known not to beat around the bush with marriage. Courtships that lasted just one day with a proposal were whispered about. This was the one time Nobody would ask for Celeste's hand. He had tried to avoid this by walking away, but now he was caught and had to face his fears. Adelaine just stared, hardly believing what she was seeing. But strangely enough, the four Alven standing behind their older relative were expecting this. It seemed certain that he had talked to them about it already. The chatter from the fires had died entirely as he knelt in front Celeste, expecting nothing from her until she answered.

Celeste blinked, somewhat stunned, and definitely not completely comprehending what he had just asked her. She was still somewhere in the beginning of the conversation, during the part where he introduced himself with a full, real name and revealed that he was part of the rulers of the Alven.

She blinked a few times more. She had always dreamed of fairy-tale love, of a handsome prince asking for her hand. She knew she could never find someone as fitting as Nobody to marry back on Earth.

However, if she was to accept...well, she would have to commit her life to the Otherworld. Which wasn't such a bad option really, the human world had never done much for her, and it was so beautiful there in the Otherworld....

She studied the young Alven in front of her, and realized that she had always looked at him in a bit of a different light. He was considerate, caring, brave, and most of all, real with her and kind to her. He didn't treat her like some helpless lady, nor did he treat her like a possession or object.

It was hard for her to fathom the idea of loving someone without really knowing them particularly well. But as she looked into his eyes, she felt something melt inside of her, overwhelmed by the love she could see in them. And she knew that he would love her and take care of her forever.

She smiled a little smile in spite of her terribly jumbled up emotions. Her eyes shone and she shyly took hold of his outstretched hand with her's. "Yes," Celeste said softly and melodically, "Yes, I will."

Senya stared at Artemis and she suddenly found tears spilling over her cheeks. She brought a hand to her face, confused. 'I don't understand why I'm crying,' she said, bewildered. 'I feel ... I feel happy. Oh,' she sighed and looked the centuar straight in the eye, 'yes. Yes. Please. I want to go with you.' She laughed shakily before turning to the faerie and her wind bird. 'And will you - can she - come with us if she - you - want?' She looked questioningly between the centuar and the faerie.
