Mean Trees

Fri Oct 07, 2005 3:30 pm

Hey guys, I have finally decided on what I am going to do for my 3 part ISP project in art. I have a serious flaw in my plan though, it revolves around trees with faces and Im completely lost at how to draw a face on a tree that looks good. I need sad trees, angry trees and happy trees and Im willing to put practice into doing it but I don't know where to start. If you guys could suggest anything I would very much appreciate it. Also: If you know any of those old cartoon movies where a merry band of kids wander into a forest only to encounter evil, menacing trees that are "alive" and have such faces that would be totaly hot because I can't think of any.

Well, a quick Google search of "evil tree" brings up some decent results.

Ugh, I had one of those cartoons in mind, but it just slipped my mind. :(

Mm, the first thing I thought of were "Ents" - those tree guys from the Lord of the Rings. They look a bit strange in all the google image search pictures though :(

there's those moaning trees in that one stage in one of the mortal kombat games, heh. I don't recall what they look like though, just that they had faces.

:roflol: Point taken.

Perhaps the main problem is drawing trees in the first place? I had that trouble as well. My tree always look like squiggles with brush glued on.
