for the vine trick, i was able to get to the next part with:
6, 6, 6, 1, 0

and then when i got into the deeper woods
i kept chasing the meepit who and kept going to random places
until i landed on a place where there were seven dim lights on the ground and a big tree trunk in the middle with a ...
