I got a call from a friend who had a daughter giving a poem for the class. She asked me if I knew of any good ones, so I sent her to look at A.A. Milne. (the girl is 7 or 8). She came back wanting something more original, so I sent her off to Lewis Carroll. Said she wanted something easier, so I wrote this. I want some opinions if you have any.
Beauty in the Simple
The simple things bring such delight:
The Beagle's howl, the bluebird's flight,
The warmth of the sun on a sandy beach,
Or even the Raven's loud, bawdy screech.
The beauty of all these simple things
Gives to my heart the song it sings.
I like the idea of the poem and the structure a lot, but I think it needs more. Maybe 2 more of the same idea, with other objects
