My first shot at photography...Artwise that is

I never really tried photography as an art, but I gave it a chance. Here are some pictures I took...

Its a window, and I like it a lot because it is hard to tell its a window.

I like this one because it almost looks like a picture you'd see in a science book.

A shot of the pure blue sky and the sun in the corner.

C & C please. Keep in mind this is my first time.

They are very nice, and very intone with nature. But, you may not want to get so close to things (particularly the leaf one) as it does blur the image. You seem to also be going for one specific thing in your shots (ie. clouds, a tree, etc) and unless there is nothing in the background (ie. just sky) the background tends to distract from the image and makes it look tacky as well.

For example, the picture where you tried to focus in on the tree with pinkish flowers. There is a house in the background, with beige like colors and brown stripes. It takes away from just the tree because when you stare at it, it will be a focal point. You may want to try taking it from another angle (as where you could see other things like a fence with fields, skies, or some water to really set off the balance.

All and all, though, they are really nice. :)

The below are some of my photographs (although not that great) that may help you visualize what I am trying to say.

And the below one showcases some bad decision, as the electric wire gets in the way, and there is not major point of interest, as there are just a group of trees that aren't really that special. Maybe if I had gotten closer, or at a different angle it might have looked better..

I really like how you bring a different perspective to certain pictures. Pretty good for a first effort :)

Big tip, make as much use of natural light as possible.. and turn off flash.

Wahey! Macro photography, I love macro photography, they're so nice :3

I shall try to comment properly on all of them despite my poor poor ability to photograph :P Firstly, what camera do you use? If you have a relatively good digital camera, or if you're shopping for a nice digi cam, then I would recomment those you can press the shutter button half way, those help focus on the object you're trying to photograph :3 Even if you think you don't have a nice camera, it's how you use it that can express a nice photo :3 (no, I have no idea what I'm talking about either :P)

Window
The white and the shades are pretty much ok, the angle taken is pretty good too! There's just something in this picture that doesn't seem right, do you think? I suggest you put the window next to something, or include a wider part in the picture. Even if it's just majority of the window and some wall, it's fine, that way you can tell that it's clearly a window and contrasts of colour would be greater.

White Tree
Well captured! I love this portrait picture! the focus is pretty good and the tree stands out as the centre of attention. The angle is pretty good too, the road behind it makes the picture look good, i have no idea why, but I like it :3

Steps
Close photography! Wheee! first decide what you're going to focus on, then focus and then take the picture. Here I suppose you're focusing on the steps; similar to the window, I suggest having something else next to it like perhaps the bigger part of a land, or wall or anything. The rail would do too. Make sure the picture is clear as you can see there are some fuzzy bits.

Sky
I adore this picture, the nice and white fluffy clouds! This picture is wonderful, you included part of trees and houses and make the wide sky stand out, very nice :3 One little thing, try involving a whole house or some land. If that doesn't look nice then try something else, experiment until you get a satisfactory photo.

Pink tree
Oooh good picture! I like the way the colour contrasts, very well done :) The effect of falling petals are great too even though it's not intentional.

Pine
Macro photography! I adore <3 this is a nice bit you've picked, but it's fuzzy! >_< I would suggest you focus on one small bit of the pine, perhaps the middle, the bit you want to stand out most and take the picture. Hopefully there would be depth of field so other than the focused bit, the other bits would be blurry or slightly fuzzed. That can make the focused bit stand out more.

Leaf
*is getting tired*
-look at comment for "Pine"-

Blue sky
I love this photo. So simple yet so beautiful. I don't know what to say >.<

Oooh and lastly try photographing at different angles, it gives you different effects and proportion of the object.

Your content is lovely, but you have to focus on your composition. Try not to have the focal point of your piece always in the center. Try interesting new ideas, such as placing your focal point is either on the left or right. Also focus on contrast: does your focal point stand out from the scenery behind it?

These are all lovely images. The pink tree is gorgeous. You should be proud of these pieces.

What sort of camera are you using? I'm gonna guess it's a digital camera. Does it have any way to adjust the lens for macro photography? If so, use it. It'll really clear up the close shots, such as the leaf, and the steps.
When working outdoors, use sunlight to your advantage. Put the sun behind you, the two shots of the trees would look better if they were more well-lit, as they are, they're a bit dark, especially at the bottom, and it detracts from the overall look.
Try odd angles. I've always found it fun to stand under a tree, and look straight up into the foilage and snap a shot that way.
Also, as said before about the pink tree, the house behind it takes away from it. Maybe if you'd moved to the side some, so that there wasn't anything directly behind the tree, it might've helped.
You're on the right track with some of these, so keep it up. My favourite is the sky photo.

I love these pictures the best:

The pine tree picture looks like fireworks. :) The sky is just simply pretty. I love how it's just the sky, but the light fills it. The light rays are gorgeous.

Good job. :)

It might be you, it might be your camera, but you need better focus on close up shots.
