Looks like it got a bit overlighted in the scanner, but I like! His eyes are nice and shiny. :D

Wow. Skills.

I think it turned out realy well. I mean...you can tell that it's a drawing, but you'd almost think you were looking at a black and white (grey and white?) photo. The shading is marvelous, very smooth.

I didn't use a scanner. I did it on the computer. Still don't have a scanner. XP

Yeah. It took about four or five hours in Photoshop (two hours spent on the face x_x).

I still don't believe you....it's pencil I tell you, PENCIL!

Wow. Amazing, I would never, EVER have known it wasn't done in pencil.

Anyways.
I think it was a good piece, I really feel if you'd darkened it (I noticed a considerable difference between my computer, and my parents computer, but it was still very light) using levels it would have been a strong piece. The shading on it once it was darkened was quite lovely. You could see the details on the throat, and on the face more, and that made it more interesting.
I suggest you look into some sort of background shading, it would make the heads image stand out a bit more, the lights lighter, and the darks darker sort of deal. And other then what could be easily called relatively minor proportional flaws, it's not bad.
Put some more work into it, darken it up a bit, and it could be quite impressive.

Once it's darkened up, you can tell by the smooth shading and the hair that it's definately not pencil.
