Lots and lots of my Neopets art

Mon Feb 26, 2007 12:21 am

So, okay...back when I actually became a member of PPT, I posted a couple of my cruddy little sketches in my introductory thread. And I had every intention of posting some of my better work soon afterward. Well, in between getting a full-time job and getting ready to move into another house and getting every kind of cold known to man due to the fact I work with four-year-olds on a daily basis...I never got around to actually following through with that.

Until today. :D

There's LOTS of drawings, and many of them are kind of big, so I'm just going to link to each one rather than bog down the thread. Some are a couple of years old, others I finished last week. Most are sketches that I scanned into the computer and colored (kinda messily :P ) in Photoshop; others I just left as they were. Anyway, hope you all like.

Black and white sketches:

Early Cherise sketches I like how the one on the very bottom seems to be looking disdainful, as if to say, "Rakumel, you idiot. Acaras don't have tails."
Some Lost Desert pets From left to right: The head of my Lenny Dark T. Niblik, a couple of sketches of my Desert Usul Amsahyasi, and a random Gelert with a Bori miner.
Early Drilax Back when he was still a blue Gelert. These sketches are from when I was making up a story about him finding a lost baby Faerie. As you can probably tell from the mushy drawing in the middle, things turned out okay.
Verakuros sketches My Halloween Cybunny.
Disco Ruki This was done before Neopets released their version. What can I say, the feet reminded me of platform shoes.
Hoban Pointing I was originally going to put this on a milk carton ("Have you seen this navigator?")
Miasma the Dark Faerie - DIBS ON THE NAME! HAHAHAHAHA... er...if it's not too late, that is...
Pirate 'Roo throws a punch Probably very awkwardly, I'm no boxing expert.

Color sketches:

Callisto the Light Faerie Submitted a smaller version of this to the AG for the Festival, but it didn't make it in. Might not have been specific enough to Neopia.
Sneaky Djauko Probably could've used some redrawing in places, but his personality comes through pretty well.
Druscylla the Hissi Sad portrait of a fallen rockstar.
Kludgeus the Ogrin Those things around his ankles are supposed to be weights. He's a thief who can run at incredible speeds without even trying - I even tried to make him look a little like a cheetah.
Rugosalyn Giggles My favorite drawing of my Mutant Bruce to date. She actually looks cute!
Pirate roo profile Another favorite drawing from two years ago.
Sasshi the Island Xweetok Well, technically she's not Island yet, but she will be eventually.
Tapangatu the Island Uni He, on the other hand, is painted. I wanted him to look like a draft horse, a huge and powerful yet beautiful animal. But personality-wise, he's a beach bum who mostly naps in the sun :P

Wow, those are amazing! You're very talented :)

I especially like the Pirate Roo ones, and the color sketch of Callisto.

Rakumel, your art is fantastic! I especially like the colored versions of your actual pets. The Uni and Ogrin are particularly great! Keep up the great work!
