I have spent four months on this picture. And a good 30 hours of work thus far, and probably another 15-20 to go. It's insanity, and i've destroyed about four microns working on it. Since I am now strapped for cash (stupid Christmas), it is no longer plausible for me to work on the image until the time comes in which I can afford to buy myself more microns.
However, i'm tired of it living in the dark without feedback.
So I give to you, the Bongo Shaman.

The scan is crud, because the image (which is somethign ridiculous like 11 x 14 inches) is too big for my scanner, and i'm too lazy to fix it right now. Perhaps one day if it's ever finished i'll take the time to do a pretty scan of it. (Perhaps even on my parents large scanner) but not on mine, and not today. So. Feed back welcome.

And a close up... because i'm a glory hound :)

He's holding a totally anitomically incorrect baboon skull (or maybe a mandrill, since he's in the forest). Yay Bongos!

i love this piece, the detail is amazing. i can definately see the thirty hours of work you've put into it so far.

my only problem with the piece is the eyes, i dont know what it is specifically that i dont like about them, they just aren't working for me.

spectacular piece though, keep up with it when you can again! i can't wait to see the finished product.

*tilts head* The eyes? And you're sure you don't have a way to elaborate on that? Is it the highlights (which are now lopsided, i'll fix that with white ink when i'm going through the final product though)?

As always, this is incredible. I love the ears, especially. The level of detail is amazing. The shading looks great. I can see how much work you've put into it.

Bongos rule. :D
