I, Lord Rhinestone Cowboy III, puppy-slap at you with my spear of ingenuity. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

Alu sighed gratefully when the human left. Then she looked around at the other wolves. "Mother?" she asked, looking at Raspy. "No, your not. Sorry, I thought you were..." She whimpered miserably. The wolf looked so much like her mother...

Merlin sniffed, "there are so many of us.. alone."
She looked at Raspy, "where is your pack? How they gone also?"
Sat Jul 17, 2004 1:25 am
Raspy sniffed Alu for just a moment before responding. "You are not of relation to me... but you do look framilliar..."
Then she turned to face Merlin. "My pack was my very close family. They are still together, I would presume, but I left them of will. I said that I would return to them some day, but I needed to experience life on my own. It's much harder, yes, but... I don't know, it just felt like something I needed to do."

"You look like my mother. Only you are younger then her, I think." Alu said. "She and my brother were taken away by humans... it wasn't that human though. The human that took them away had a bang-stick. One of the ones that have thunder and lightning, you know? And he also smelled funny."
Sat Jul 17, 2004 2:44 pm
"What do they want of us," Merlin wondered. "Where are the wolves taken?"
She got like a frowning expression.
"Has ever, one of you, followed the .. humans?"
Sat Jul 17, 2004 10:02 pm
Snowy heard them talking about where the humans supposidely took them. "I've heard around that they take them to circuses or..." she left her sentence at that trying not to say that the other wolves maybe dead. She also didn't want to give away her past just yet, but it seemed like she would have to sooner or later since they were on that subject.

Kara listened in on their conversation. She had never followed a human, but had tried. She had wanted to get to the destination with out getting shot at, or found. She sat there, keeping an eye out for the human, and an ear listning to the conversation behind her.

"Maybe.. " Merlin hesitated, "maybe we could follow them. Look for the other wolves. I mean.. it would not be too difficult."
She pointed her nose at the tracks in the snow.
It would be a challenge. Yes, besides, if they found other wolves, how great would that be? Stories would be howled for years about them.
Sun Jul 18, 2004 3:33 pm
Snowy looked at the two and wondered if that was a good idea. She didn't say anything against it or for it, but just decided to follow her friends. Who knows...maybe she would find her lost pack.

Raspy nodded excitedly. “And that human there, he didn’t seem too dangerous since he didn’t have a bang stick. And we’d be… legends!” she barked. Of course she wanted to save the other wolves, but being a legend was quite appealing also.
“I’m in.”
Sun Jul 18, 2004 9:04 pm
Alu blinked. She didn't know about being a legend, but she did know that she wanted her mom and brother back. "I'll help too." she said. She looked up at the wolf who looked so much like her mother, and gave a little yip.

[[Woo... this is advancing pretty far!]]
*Scarback limped in a vauge sort of manner through the trees. Snow was just beginning to fall, but already it was becoming cold. Not even a streak of light had appeared upon the horizon, and only by starlight and moonlight she made her way. A little burrow lay in the leaves, and she crawled in, shivering in pain and cold. All at once, she heard something moving in the burrow, making a sliding, grinding noise against the dirt.
She backed out a bit, and a chunk of the ceiling fell in.. the little bit of light streaming through revealed horrible, yellow eyes and a long, wavering tongue. A snake! It made to strike, but she was already running, stumbling on the odd step, her paw and back pained. She came to rest on a sort of cliff, overlooking a large and somewhat snowy pine forest. A slate sort of rock supported her, and from here Scarback had a view of the entire area. Maybe there are others, she thought, but remembering that her own pack would kill her upon her return, she would not risk a howl for help. Instead she gave another howl, quite different, one of the quirks the alpha of her pack despised her for. It said,
Where are the grasses, long in the wind?
Where is the sound of the howl of a friend?
Where are the bones of the deer left behind?
Where, now, am I, at the bitter end?
Tue Jul 20, 2004 1:33 am
Alu cocked her ears towards where the howl was coming from. The words were familiar, sort of, though the voice was one she did not know. She could not remember the reply her mother always said when her father howled that very poem (thing...).
She could not remember her father very well, he had died a few weeks after she and her brother had been born.
Tue Jul 20, 2004 3:17 am
Raspy cocked her head to the sky and listened to the poem howled. She wanted to raise her head in reply, but couldn't think of a thing to howl in turn. Instead, she just looked to where the human had tread.
"We better get moving if we are to follow him."
Tue Jul 20, 2004 7:04 pm
"How strange," Merlin said, distracted by the odd howling. She noticed Alu.
"Is it a wolf you know?"
