Deirdre blinked. So, she wasn't alone, then? All right. Might as well find an ally in this, then. Opening her mouth to speak, she almost immediately closed it, remember one of the first things her father had ever taught her- never trust anyone, especially if they claim to be something out of the ordinary. In this case, a stranger claiming to be a Geomancer, she thought, would definitely count as very much out of the ordinary. And besides, this girl- woman- just showing up and asking her if she was a Geomancer was a bit suspicious.

Thinking this through, Deirdre came to her conclusion and replied to 'Ilani Tira, High Geomancer of Ivy''s query, mustering up her best "Hello, I'm a silly stereotypical high-school cheerleader!" acting.

"An Ankh on the wrist?" she asked, shoving her wrist- and wand- behind Andrew's back, "Doesn't that mean, like, Geomancer or whatever? Why would, like, I be a Geomancer? Aren't they all really evil bad guys, like in the movies?"

Andrew quickly realized what she was doing, and in turn, joined in, saying eagerly, "Oh, yeah, uh, Britney, Geomancers are bad dudes. So uncool. Those Mage Council dudes are like so totally awesome. I'd so like to surf with them, haha yeah, dude."

Deirdre nodded, grinning as she tried to drop the wand in the sand, so it'd seem to be just a regular piece of driftwood. She soon came to the conclusion that it was stuck to her hand, and so attempted to shake it off while changing the subject swiftly and eloquently by squealing, "Oh, my God!" shake, "I, like, totally," shake, "love your," shake, "shoes! What mall," shake, "did you get them in?" shake, "Totally awesome!"

Coming to the conclusion that the wand wasn't going to un-meld itself from her hand, she smiled brightly and said, giggling, "I'd so like to talk to you about your totally rocking clothes, but, like, I've got to meet Christina, Avril and Regina at the mall, so, like, bye!" as she grabbed Andrew's hand, unintentionally flashing the Ankh to the world, and ran.

She didn't get very far, though, as she'd taken no more than seven steps to the left before she was tackled by someone from behind.

((Haha, I couldn't resist. And feel free to have the tackler be anyone- a deranged stalker, a Council member, a green sand-and-ankh-eating alien, a flying squid...))

((I hope you don't mind if it's not someone but something))

Tira raised her eyebrows as the girl rambled on, she wasn't very good at acting this girl. When she commented about her shoes Tira's eyes widened even furthur, she glanced down for a moment, noting the mud splattered military boots she wore.

The girl then attempted to leave, she unfortunately gave Tira a good version of the Ankh on her wrist while doing so. Just as she turned around Tira flicked out her wrist instinctively, a long vine appeared out of nowhere and twisted itself around the girl's arm, the other end twisted itself firmly around Tira's fingers and hand. Trying to hide her look of shock, Tira immediately frowned, "Hang on a sec. Let me see that wrist of yours, and that wand you're holding."

Anka was watching while this was happening.
"Good Job Miss... What was your name again?... It doesn't matter." He was enjoying the helplessness of the young girl. "Hello I'm the High Geomancer of Night May I look at your arm now.
<hr>
Joy was sitting on a bench near where Talim's concert had took place. 'I should've went with Tira too...' She thought to herself. 'I'm so bored it's unbelievable.'

Renetta barely heard Talim's words above the cyclone, but she somehow understood.

"Stay still Mint", she said in Mint's ear. She needed no more distractions if she would try to get this right.

Now, back to the spell. Staring straight at the bell on her wristband, she began to notice that either the band was fraying, or something beneath her wrist was glowing, to form an ankh-like shape, though it was hard to tell with the faint illumination.

Closing her eyes, she began to breathe in with a count of seven, and breathe out with seven as well, a technique she had learned when she was young for calming her nerves.

One,two, three, four, five, six, seven, and out; One, two three, four, five, six seven.

When she finally calmed herself down, she began to focus her intent on the bell, still resonating with shrieking pierces of vibration. Letting her will take over, she felt her mind trickle down her arm, pulling from parts of her body to form at the band. With another breath, she drew herself in to the band, to wrap herself around the bell. Quivering against the vibration of the bell, her mind slowly calmed it, giving a soft, yet stern touch. Eventually the cyclone died down, and in the center of the debris she layed, her arms now feeling like putty and her hair covering her face.

((Meh, thought I posted this, but..))

Neva clenched her teeth, thoughts of rage and revenge floating in her head. No one ever noticed her; no one noticed the little girl crying in the snow, or the young lady that she'd grown to be sobbing on the bench outside of the inn. The only person who ever payed attention to her was her twin; but even Maya had abandoned her now. She was upset, she was frightened, but most of all, she was furious. She bent her head, concentrating. She tapped into a source of power; and unleashed it. Instantly; the clouds turned grey, and white snowflakes fell from the sky; stinging the cheeks of nearby people that were milling around. A layer of snow was already dusting the ground; and it was falling harder and harder by the minute. Neva smirked.

((If you're wondering; she's starting a blizzard. Moo ha ha!))

((You're all just revealing how truly powerful the Geomancers are, muahahahaha!))

Talim smiled as the cyclone died down, revealing a young girl cradling a small cat in her lap. "Good job Renetta. In case you couldn't hear me before, you are the High Geomancer of Wind. And I'm Lunetta Talim, High Geomancer of the Moon. I'm on a... quest... of sorts to find all the High Geomancers and help to train them so that they can all harness their powers."

Talim was suddenly interrupted by another burst of strong power, looking out of the hole created by the cyclone she could see dark storm clouds appearing over the city and a blizzard beginning to form. "Oh my, it seems someone else can't control their powers." Turning back to Renetta she offered out her hand, "We'll have to get going sooner than expected, I have some other friends who can take care of you until I get back." She then remembered Asha and turned to glance at her, "We'll have to wake that other girl and take her with us too."

((By the way, it's slowly becoming night, it's around early afternoon now....))

Groaning, she accepted Talim's hand, slowly easing herself up, careful not to drop Mint. "I'm not sure I'll be able to come. Maybe I should wait here with her." Glancing at Asha, she remembered what had happened, and how this had all started. "I hope I didn't hurt her too much. I was afraid, as she tried to break in. Is she all right?"

(I'm sort of linguistically blocked up right now, so I have to keep this short. Sorry people!)

((This was far better the first time I typed it out- I'd almost finished it when my browser 'unexpectedly quit'. Really, really amusing, Safari, that you always do that when I'm about to finish writing something long. Grr.))

((Oh, and beware: much Deirdre Drama-Queening ahead. Well, sort of, I suppose in some instances she’s just really frustrated.))

((Er, and sorry for yanking what you wrote, CD- I wrote and rewrote this dozens of times, but eventually had to stick what Anka said in here- it was quite difficult to have it be wham, Tira takes down Deirdre, bam, Anka introduces himself, then have Deirdre do whatever.))

Deirdre almost screamed as her arm was nearly dislocated as it was yanked back, causing her to fall flat on her face. 'Almost' because as she fell, she managed to have what seemed to be several pounds of sand enter her mouth, to her great displeasure, as this was the second time in the last fifteen minutes that this had happened.

Wincing as she looked at her arm, she let out a short shriek as she saw that a vine was wrapped tightly around it, leading back to the so-called Ilani Tira’s hand.

Quickly getting over her shock (well, the woman had said she was the High Geomancer of Ivy), Deirdre managed to sit up and spit out the sand, cursing under her breath as she turned to glare at the 'High Geomancer of Ivy'. If looks could kill, Ilani Tira would be a maggot's feast right now.

Silently counting to ten, she idly thought that she should just be grateful that it wasn’t snowing. (She loathed snow- and winter, for that matter.)

On cue, large, fat flakes of snow began drifting down in a thick blanket.

Oh, very funny. So amusing. Next, I bet some callous jerk will show up to make me even more miserable, Deirdre thought bitterly, glaring up at the sky.

Again, as if she was some sort of “Oh, let’s look at the tarot cards, shall we?” seer, her prediction came true.

Looking as if he quite enjoyed seeing her, the poor defenseless little girl, so helpless, a nearby boy wearing all black said, after telling the woman something, “Hello, I’m the High Geomancer of Night. May I look at your arm now?”

No less than three seconds after he said this, something inside her snapped- her patience or tolerance for humans, most likely, but it may have been her nice, polite side exploding with a loud bang.

Alright, that’s it, Deirdre thought, furious. It was enough that she’d been stuck on a beach during an earthquake, it was more than enough that she’d just found out she was a Geomancer- and of all the useless things in the world, a Geomancer of Sand, it was very much more than enough that Andrew had nearly died, it was enough that there was what seemed to be a blizzard happening right now, it was SO more than enough that some insane woman claiming to be a Geomancer had freaking leashed her- with a vine, no less- as if she was some animal, but oh, now some brat- Deirdre resolutely ignored how he looked no older than she or Andrew- who looked like a wannabe angsty goth (Geomancer of Night? HA!) was going to act condescending towards her?

What wrathful God had cast this curse on her day?

Glaring at the boy as if she hoped her eyesight alone would strike him down, Deirdre replied angrily, addressing both ‘High Geomancers’, “No, you certainly may NOT. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve no idea who either of you are. For that matter, I’m sprawled in the dirt-“

“Sand, Deirdre,” Andrew whispered, elbowing her. He was kneeling next to her, looking warily at the two strangers.

Dirt,” she said, ignoring him, “not sure whether I should be thankful that I decided not to wear a dress today, or whether I should just be happy at how at least I’m being cornered by two insane freaks, instead of two serial murderers, or something.'

"High Geomancers? Quite funny, that. Everyone knows that there aren’t any Geomancers anymore, and if there are, they weren’t handed over to the Counsil of Mages. Actually, you two are probably from the Counsil, anyway- if you’re pretending to be Geomancers, and you’re not insane, then you have to be trying to trick real Geomancers into admit that they’re Geomancers, or something like that.'

"Now, I don’t know how you freaking got that vine to attach itself to my arm- well, actually, if you’re Mages, that would explain it. But honestly. This is just stupid.’

"Also, this isn't a wand," she lied, addressing Ilani Tira, "It's a stupid piece of driftwood I picked up."

“The game’s up, the joke’s over, leave us alone,” she said, before adding, "Oh, and actually... Now that I think of it... Perhaps I am a Geomancer. Oooh, wouldn't that be exciting? Yes. Yes it would. Especially if I were a Geomancer of, hmm, let's see... SAND. Ah, that would be fun. I mean, we are on a beach. Wouldn't it be nice if I created a nice big sandstorm?" she asked, smiling brightly as she brought the wand up and slammed it down into the sand, concentrating hard on summoning a sandstorm, a huge one.

Smirking as sand started rising all around her, she grabbed onto Andrew's arm and yelled, "Hold on! I just-" she focused on having a large amount of sand hit the vine, as it was restricting her movements, "need to get rid of this thing!"

Deirdre heard something snap, but as the sand was now in full let's-blind-people storming mode, she couldn't tell if it was the vine or not. Grinning anyway, she gripped Andrew's arm harder, silently commanding the sand to not touch either of them.

((Um, yeah. She gets stressed/frustrated quite easily. And yeah, her temper’s famous. And I told you she tends to overreact. (For example, she immediately assumed Anka was a callous jerk, and that Tira was trying to kill her, or something.)))

((And if there are still Geomancers around, aside from our characters, Deirdre doesn’t know it- she tends to assume things. She hasn’t heard of any Geomancers in quite a while? Then that must mean they’ve died out.))

((Oh, and, um, sorry for having Deirdre be a horrid brat. That’s just the way she is- Andrew brings out her better side.))

((Ah, and lastly (I promise!), you get to decide if the vine snapped or not- I felt it would be rather god-moddish if I had it snap, as, well, it's not my vine, heh.))

((Uh-oh, Tira's gonna get angry now.... All our characters have serious anger management issues. Well, except Talim....))

Tira raised one delicate eyebrow as Deirdre ranted on and on and on. This girl obviously had some serious issues... She became slightly angry when the girl suddenly slammed her 'piece of driftwood' into the ground and summoned a raging sandstorm to attack them. Wind began pounding clumps of sand and bits of shell and wood at her and Anka, the sand scratched at her skin and filled her clothes and boots.

The sand then began to pound at the vine which still connected her wrist to Deirdre's arm. Unfortunately for her, the vine didn't want to unattach itself from her wrist, so when a particularly large clump of sand came flying at it (the vine), it pulled her whole arm to the right so fast that it caused her wrist to break from the force.

Tira gasped in shock, eyes widening in the realisation that her right wrist was broken. Her face then contorted into a murderous frown, she bared her teeth in anger then slowly raised her left arm so that it was in front of her. "Enough!" she roared before spreading her fingers out wide. Thousands of vines appeared out of nowhere, they rose from the ground and formed a protective 'bubble' all around her.

Tira then brought her left arm back till it was centimetres from her face, she then opened her fist wide and swept her arm out in front of her. A multitude of vines rose from the ground, they soared in all directions around her, trying to find Deirdre and Andrew.

((You can decide whether the vines grab Deirdre and Andrew or not, they'll probably strangle her if they do find her... hehehe :P ))

((I love visualising these scenes, our characters are so powerful, it's so much fun roleplaying this! You are all doing a wonderful job and your characters are all interesting and well written! I just wanted to congratulate you all on making this RP very interesting and helping to bring it to life. I look forward to continuing this interesting journey with you all. ))

((Oops, I forgot about Renetta, sorry... o_O ))

Talim looked at Asha carefully, "I'm not sure.... Do you know where the beach is? Because if you do, there's a store nearby, a grocery store and cafe to be exact. Everyone should be there." With that said, Talim began making her way to the door, "I've really got to go and stop the blizzard. I'll see you soon okay Renetta?"

"All right" she said, muffling a slight groan. "I'll wait for her to wake up. No use trying to drag her." Looking out at her window, she stared intently at the beach in view. "Oh no.... problem." Pointing, she motioned towards the swirling storm of sand. "I guess I'm not the only one who can't control their powers very well. I suppose most of Us are going to be making pretty big scenes..."
