Math Help - Prize for first 5 with answer!

Here's the skinny - I am making a quilt. Since this is my first I didn't know how to start, I cut out little peices at a time. Well, now I'm screwed because I need to know how to cut the center shapes. Here's the image:

All the squares around the sides are 6x6. This is how I got the measurments 24 x 30 on that right angle, so I know what I need for that. It's the square in the middle and the 4 triangles around it I need help with. I need HELP! If you can figure it out, then I'll give you a gift for helping me out, I want 5 answers because I want kind of a trail-and-error to see if the answers all match or not. This is a toughy.
Apply the pythagorean theorem (A2+B2= C2) to each triangle to find the missing length. Take this lenght and divide it in two. Now you've got the length of one side of the diamond outisde the quilt. Take the side and divide it into two, this should give you the side of two squares.
Once you've done this with all four triangles, take the two lengths you know of one of the triangles on the sides of the square and find the mystery angle again using the theorem but this is a problem because you can't use the theorem on a non right-angle triangle so you have to divide it in half, but now you need the lenght of your brand new line jutting through the square.
This is as far as I got, I'll update when I figure out more.

Well I get the 3rd side to be 38.4187454245971 units. I'm using and educated guess to say the centeral square is about 30.5 units by using you image as a guide. Also assuming ur guide to be to scale the sides of the center triangles are half the bottom of the third side thus making them 19.2093727122985.
So this gives us the shapes & sizes:40- 6x6 squares,
4- 24x30x38.41874542597 triangles,
4- 9.2093727122985x19.2093727122985x30.5 triangles,
and one 30.5x30.5 square.
So this gives us the shapes & sizes:40- 6x6 squares,
4- 24x30x38.41874542597 triangles,
4- 9.2093727122985x19.2093727122985x30.5 triangles,
and one 30.5x30.5 square.

oh i love quilts!! i've made one myself.... i've just kinda not finished it as the hand quilting is boring... and it's in cornwall with my gran and i'm in the midlands.
anyway, it's too late to be thinking about maths, sorry, just wanted to say yay for quilts, and post a picture of it when you're done!!
