Medusa's Set Contest - CLOSED - Winners Announced!!!

Thu Feb 10, 2005 6:48 am

I’ve decided to have a little set contest of my own, oh, I’m so proud! I’m thinking the prizes should be set out something like this:

1st place – 75k
2nd place – 50k
3rd place – 25k

150k total in winner prizes. I’m also thinking that a small participation gift say approximately 1k for each person who enters (either that or I’ll be dividing 50k between the number of people, whichever is greater). Please note, you can enter as many times as you like but you can only win/get a participation gift once.

So, what am I looking for? Well, some of you may know I can be quite indecisive when it comes to making some decisions, particularly artistic ones. I sometimes go through phases where I will have a new avatar every couple of days (of course, I avoid doing this with avatars created by other people out of consideration for their hard-work and so some basic ones created by myself end up being the ones changed regularly).

I have to admit, set making is quite an art and when requesting from a set maker I’m often guilty of happily allowing them as much creative license as they want.

Here’s a few guidelines…

Main (avatar and signature): Medusa
Colour Scheme: This is where you’re more than welcome to use creative license
Sub-text: I’m quite partial to the quote “carpe diem quam minimum credula postero” (“seize the day put little trust in tomorrow” for those that don’t speak latin) although whatever matches and fits in with the set would be fine too
Images: You can use ANYTHING that you choose. Use whatever you feel you can work with best.
Sizes: Keep it within the PPT rules or I won’t be able to use it

Couple of things to keep in mind:

    · I don’t like cutesy stuff, I prefer things to be more elegant and sophisticated.
    · I’m not a big fan of images of comics or cartoons (simpsons, futurama, south park, etc) , although anime is fine.
    · I don’t have a colour preference.
    · I’m a fantasy fan so that might give you a few ideas for genre.
    · Neverwinter Nights is cool.

Contest will close by: March 10th unless the incoming entries dry up. If entries dry up I’ll post a message giving a 7 day warning and then judge.
Contest will close and be judged on 4th March at 1am NST. 7 day warning was given on 25th February.

I do intend to use all entries :)

Hm...I recognize the girl from your set. She's from Final Fantasy (forgot her name, it's either Lulu or Paine, leaning on Lulu). I'll probably make something.

This is the first time I'm submitting imageless set. I read a bunch of tutorials on pslovers and ended up with this.
