PPT Subtext King/Queen 2

Fri Mar 11, 2005 10:54 pm

Introduction

Some of you may remember a contest Dawn2 held long ago, The Subtext King/Queen. Due to Dawn's tight schedule, the game never ended, but I've always thought it was a brilliant idea. So, with Dawn's permission, I decided to hold another subtext contest. With the first one over, another contest has come along, PPTSKQ2!

Information

Every round, I will present you with a signature with no subtext – it will then be your job to think of a creative and unique subtext that goes with the signature. (You do not have to edit my signature with your subtext on it) Then, the judges will give comments on each subtext, and choose who will not be able to participate next round. The last contestant remaining will be crowned with the title of PPT Subtext King/Queen. One round lasts 5 days. Contestants receive 3 days to enter their subtexts, then judges get 2 days to judge.

Rules

1. Your subtext must be 100% your own – stealing someone else’s will result in you being disqualified.

2. Every post in this thread must be contest – related.

3. Only contestants and judges may post.

4. If you miss a round, you are automatically disqualified unless you contact me ahead of time with a reason.

5. I have the right to remove any judge or contestant, if I feel it’s needed.

FAQ

Q: Can I have one of my subtext-less signatures in the contest?
A: Yes. Just PM me your signature. If you want to use one of the subtexts suggested for your signature, though, you’ll have to PM the person who suggested it asking their permission.

Q: How many contestants are allowed, and how do I sign up?
A: I will not put a limit to the number of contestants. However you will have to sign up before February 20 to be a contestant. To sign up, DO NOT post in this thread, instead PM me.

Q: How many judges are allowed and how do I sign up?
A: I will need four judges not including me. To sign up, PM me and tell me why you want to be a judge. If you just say, “Can I be a judge?” I will ignore you. If you want to be a judge, you will also have to sign up before February 20. You CAN NOT be a judge and a contestant.

Q: Anything I should include in my PM to sign up?
A: If you're still reading, include "Rules are the best!" somewhere in your PM.

Q: Can I donate any money towards the prizes?
A: Yes, that would definitely be appreciated! Just bid on one of my trades.

Prizes

The winner of this contest will receive the title of “PPT Subtext King/Queen” as well as 10k neopoints. The two runner-ups will each receive 5k.

If you provide a signature for the contest, you will receive 1k neopoints.

Really, watericesage, judging doesn't start until AutumnElf makes the post, which I advise you don't rush. :)

Judges Notes: Well, good work to all of you this round. The subtexts were very good! This was a hard signature to do, mainly because you only have one thing to work with, the strawberries.

Ratings:

Watericesage
---Delicate Treats *fade* Natural Sweets
I like it. It fits in with the signature well, and it is the perfect size for a fading signature. The ‘Natural Sweets’ part is good, but in my opinion it may have been better as ‘Nature’s Sweets’. But I can see both subtexts working. Good job.

Ledi
---Sweet as Kisses
Good one. The subtext fits well with the image, and the overall ‘feeling’ of the subtext. Nice work!

Maniac
---*fade in* ...and cream *fade out* *fade in* Mmmm! *fade out* ((Repeat))
Yes, I can see where you are coming from, but I don’t think this subtext is absolutely right for this signature. The signature is given a more elegant and soft side with the font that was used. Your subtext, I think, would work better with a signature with a more ‘fun mood’.

Twinkle---Mother Nature's Candy
A bit like Watericesage’s but it is ok. Again, I think this fits well with the signature. Well done.

Hellyer---Sweet Summer Fun
Like I said to Maniac, I like the subtext but I don’t think it fits the ‘mood’ of the signature that well. I can see this subtext on a signature where there are strawberries outside, or near the sun, but not just strawberries by them selves.

Eliminate:
Maniac and Hellyer.

Yes, I see what you mean robert...

I think I might go out this round.. everyone's subtexts are so good! :P
