Clucky's totally random contest. Make me your dress up doll!

Sun Dec 11, 2005 4:04 am

This is just a spur of the moment kind of thing. Clucky probably will regret this in the morning, but hey, why not =P.

The game:

Each round Clucky will post a challenge. This may be a math(s for you english dudes) challenge, a word challenge, a triva about clucky challenge whatever. The contestants must all solve the challenge within the alloted time(fourty eight hours). Not only must they send me the answers, they also must send me how they go their answers in step by step manner. Answers will be judged, by me, on a scale of 1 to 3. Threes are really good answers that my dog could understand, twos are answers that explain it but not all that clear-or wrong answers that just look really pretty but you made a silly mistake, 1s are answers will next to no explaination or wrong answers that close and clucky is nice, 0s are answers with "I hacked Kugetsu's computer and found the answer" as an explantion or answers that are just really really wrong. Of course, if it really really really wrong, it might be wrong enough to make clucky give you extra points on it. I donno. Whatever I feel like  .

This will start Tuseday the 13th and last for five rounds, thus ending the 23rd. The top five people will then be taken to the final round, which will be explained then. Final round challenges will start on the 23rd, 26th, 28th and 30th and after each challenge, one person in the final group will be eliminated. The final person will be deemed the winner

I know alot of you will have problems due to holidays, and thats why im posting it all here.

Anyways, this has to have a purpose, right... which brings us to

THE PRIZE!

1st place - You get to rename Clucky for the whole year(im tried being Clucky everywhere). Thats right, pick a username. As long as I dont horribly object to it for some reason, I'll get an admin to change my username to that, and keep it like that for the whole next year(ill then run this again and get a new name. Or, if im board, run it in six months and pretend that is what I have been saying all along. You only get to change it once though =P PPT only of course. I stay clucky everywhere else

2nd place - You get to choose Cluckys avatar for the whole year. You can run a set contest, make it on paint, whatever. You also get full rights to it and may ask me to change it as often as once a week.

3rd place - Im keeping the werebunnys in the sig and the links, but you can get to change the phrase I stick in my sig below the img and above the links. Like 2nd place, you can change it as often as you want.

4th and 5th place: You can each request one favor of clucky. Such as "join this set contest" or "post here" or something like that. I cant promise much out of it, but i'll try my best whatever you ask me to do.

Everyone else: Sorry. Clucky will look silly enough after the first five, he wants to keep the rest of his sanity.

To sign up, do not post. Instead PM me. This will be your first challenge(see, there are accually six). It will be a hard once, hence the extra time.

You must give me an essay on why you want to play, as well as one on ONE of the following:
Why Arrow the Chicken is the greatest Emoticon.
Why Bananas are the best fruit in the world.
Why Clucky is the coolest person at randomness(if you do not go to randomness, of course dont do this one. Sorry to those who dont, but I needed a third topic, cant really say im the coolest person at all of PPT and enough of you are at randomness that I want to see the results)

If you want, you may answer two or all three and I will grade them all and give you the best score(e.g. if one is a 1 and one is a 3, you get three). But only one answer is required.

And no, you cannot be a judge. Clucky is the only judge here. He may or may not be biased. Live with it :P

Yeah I would sign up but the thought of writing an essay just to sign up is daunting 8)

Sun Dec 11, 2005 9:07 pm

How long is an essay for you? o_O

Actually, two.

Same question as Wind.

Mon Dec 12, 2005 5:15 am

Essay is really the wrong word.

If you want to write a ten page one, fine, be by guest. If you want just a few lines, go ahead. Just remember that a few lines probably wont get a score of a 3, as you really cannot cover the topic in a few lines of work.

Also you can always join after this wrong, just you of course do not get any points. And no joining after the final five =P

Wait... our essays are only judged on length?

cuz mine was splendously hilarious.

Mon Dec 12, 2005 11:52 pm

No. An essay can be short and very good. Or long and very boring. Its just that a long essay is more likly to get a higher score =).

Btw, two people have entered so far. I was hoping for at least five at this point. Urry up peeps =P

That's screwed up. I could write an answer that doesn't break 10 words for why Arrow beats the socks off of Rolly-dude.

And if its really good, you'll get three points for it. Its just that a longer essay will gave a greater chance at getting a greater score. A short essay can still easily score a 3 and a long one can still score a 0.

Enter #1
Proof: We begin with the general axiom that Clucky's randomness > Tested's randomness.
Now, we use the scientific method to see how random Tested is.

Shrrimp is spelt w/ 2 (two) r(R)s.
2(two) is a number.
Numbers is a book of the Bible.
The Bible is controversial.
Evolution is controversial.
FSMism is just plain stupid.
Plain is a MTG card.
MTG is fun.
Fun is not the same as funny.
All things are not the same.
All things that exist, exist.
Exist, exist is a double negative in some countries.
In some countries, They'll kill you for drunk driving.
If you kill someone who was driving, it is a drive-by shooting.
Drive thrus have dollar menus.
RPGs have "low casting cost" menus.
RPGs are not a halfway point between the ratings R and PG.
PG-13 is a halfway point between R and PG.
Pirate G. said Arr 13 times.
Pirates stop global warming.
Stop signs end this essay.
Well. Its random. But it clearly doesnt answer the first question, and doesnt really answer any of the other three questions. But i'll give you a score of 1 Point for trying =)
Hi. I'd like to play because, according to my friends, I'm very random. Also, I like challenges. And, the title caught my attention. I may not do well, but I'd like to enter.

Kay. Now. Why bananas are the best fruit in the world.
B is for bananas.
A is for how awesome they taste.
N is for the neat yellow color.
A is why bananas beat apples
N is for how nice and clean they are.
A is for the appropriate curvy-moon shape.
S is for how sweet bananas are!!!
Also, Gwen Stefani sings about them.
And that's why bananas are the best fruit in the world.

Because that stunk, I'll try my hand at this one.

Arrow the chicken is the best emoticon in the world because he is fat, orange, and a chicken. This makes him sweet because everyone loves a fat chicken, and orange reminds me of Halloween, which is a good thing. His chicken-ness adds to the Arrow-love, because everyone knows illustrated chickens are really cute.

I'm done now.

Great reason. Great banana essay. Rather poor arrow essay. But I can ingnore that part, and everything else warrents a perfect Three Points Great job =)

Anyways, I forgot to prepare the next challenge, and now its getting to be rather late. So I am going to do a nice easy challenge to try and get people to join. =)

Challenge One(a math challenge):

Please answer the following questions correctly:

Question One: This is the answer to question two plus 3.
Question Two: This is twice the answer to question one minus the answer to question four.
Question Three: This is the total number of questions which have an odd answer times the answer to question five.
Question Four: This is the answer to question one plus half the answer to question three.
Question Five: This is twice the answer to question two minus 6.

I'll prepare for the next one(s). It will be a fun picture one. Untill then, enjoy trying to figgure out this one. It did not take me long to write it and then test solve it, so it should not be very hard
:)

I'm commited to this; I just can't figure out this problem, and I'm not sending in a wrong answer. That would be mathematical sin.
