Dranzer and I are dropping out.

I think you already know why this is Dawn, so I don't need to explain it.

Sorry to the other teammates if you want to continue with the game.

People are having a lot of problems with this. I think it's because it's summer. Im actually starting a new job tuesday and moving on friday, so im pobably not going to be on much. Sorry team. I know Monique is on vacation right now too. So it's basically up to Ammer. Good luck :)

I think Monique is still in the game and I'm more than happy to continue playing.

-Round 3 Is Over-

Team 3 was the only team to send answers. Once again, Teams 2 and 4 are striked, which makes them the first teams eliminated.

Answers:

Team 3 wrote:
1. During the 16th century, the only people allowed to own this breed of dog was the imperial family of China. What kind of breed was the dog?

Pekingese

2. Because of its unique ability, this lizard has been nicknamed the "Jesus Christ Lizard". What is its true name?

Basilisk Lizard

3. During World War II, 13 sheep were placed at the White House to trim the lawn. What was the name of the famous tobacco chewing ram?

President Woodrow Wilson grazed sheep on the White House lawn. The wool from the sheep was sold to raise money for the Red Cross during World War I. The flock included "Old Ike," a tobacco chewing ram.

4. What is the only animal that can see both infra-red and ultra-violet light?

Common goldfish

5. What does the golden-headed cisticola use to build its nests?

The female builds a discreet nest deep in the grasses, often binding living leaves into the soft fabric of felted plantdown, cobweb, and grass: a cup shape for the Zitting Cisticola with a canopy of tied-together leaves or grasses overhead for camouflage; a full dome for the Golden-headed species, which is widespread in Australia.

6. Where did the raccoon get its name?

The name "raccoon" originated from the Algonquin word "arakun", which means: "he scratches with his hands."

7. Which animal is the largest land carnivore?

Polar bear

8. Which animals protected the town of Gruyere, Switzerland in 1499?

Cows?

9. Which animal did ancient Egyptians train to carry their trays?

The Egyptians trained monkeys.

10. For centuries this snake was so worshipped that in Benin, anyone caught killing one of these snakes was shut in their hut and then set afire. What snake was it?

Royal Python

The answer to number 7 is the Kodiak bear, and the answer to number 8 is goats.

Team 3 Recieves 8 Points.

Current Standings-

1st place: Team 3- 25 points
2nd place: Team 1- 15 points
3rd place: Team 5- 5 points

New Ruling

Starting now, the team with the lowest points for the round itself (not the whole game) will be striked. I thought that keeping it like it is would be a bit unfair, since Team 5 could get ten points in the next round and out perform the others, but they would get a strike. So now you only get strikes by individual round scores.

New questions up soon.

One thing I might ask. For number 7, is it all animals in Earth's History or present animals? Because if its in the History, I believe it would be a dinosaur, like a T-Rex.

It does say is (present tense), so I'd imagine it was in the present.

I thought my team sent in the answers, darn it, know I'll have to do everything myself. At least we didn't get striked.

You forget, you barely did anything to aid the team before, so you shouldn't quite complain that your team 'Didn't send the answers in.'

First of all- Dranzer, you dropped out. I don't see how you have any right to criticise Jabond for something you are no longer apart of. So leave him alone, because you chose to leave the game. And Jabond, do not complain about having to do things yourself. This is between you and your teammate. If you have a problem, you work it out with them. Do NOT come and complain about them on this board.

Now keep the fighting to PM or IM and off the board, or I reserve the right to dock your points for not being civil.

Round 4

No theme this round, as I was busy on a project (been working for five hours in all, probably will finish in another 3-4). I just took whatever questions I could round up and chucked in a few from my own brain.

1. Name the currencies of India, Israel, Turkey, and Brazil.

2. What is the oldest continuous European settlement in North America?

3. Name the longest (not largest) under sea mountain range and tell me how long it is. Then name the longest (again, not largest) land mountain range and tell me how long that one is.

4. NOTE: Area = in square miles

Add the area of the Pacific Ocean with the area of the Atlantic Ocean. Multiply that number by the area of the Indian Ocean. Subtract that number by the area of the Artic Ocean. That number is your answer. Numbers within twenty of my answer will be counted correct.

5. What year was composer Antonio Vivaldi born in? What year did he die?

6. Name the nicknames and capitals of the last five US states you would list if you were to list all the states alphabetically.

7. What does the roman numeral CDXCIX mean?

8. Name the five largest natural lakes in the world.

9. If you and I were to stand on the moon and I yelled, "Buffy dies in season 5", what would you hear?

10. NOTE: Area = in square miles

Take the number of letters in the Palmetto state and multiply that number by two. Then subtract the number of letters in the Beaver State. Divide that number by the number of letters in the Buckeye State, then add the number of letters in the Flickertail state. That is your answer. Your answer will be counted correct if it is within three of the correct answer.

Last Call for Answers (Deadline): Sunday, July 31st
Answers Checked On: Monday, August 1st

10. In 'Armageddon', Harry saves the world from total damnation by blowing up a nuclear warhead on the asteroid. After saying his goodbyes to his daughter, what does he say just before blowing the asteroid up?
