I take it a lot of people didn't make the deadline.
DM was on fire! -- One question. Why all the tinting? You choose beautiful images to work with, but then you go and make everything one color. I honestly think you could have done so much more with this image. It just looks so plain and drab. The textured background is nice though, even if you could do it with a filter.
Apricus -- It's amazing. Wow. I think it's really quite vivid for a wallpaper (Scott's green blinding ones come to mind
), but it doesn't change the fact that it's beautiful. I love the horizontal lines and how the slight grids fade into them in the middle of the starburst thing. I must remind you though: on a PC, the bottom of a wallpaper is cut off by the start up bar thing, unless you put it on autohide. Always keep that in mind when making wallpapers.
Kyra -- Did you do the cloudy background yourself? It's pretty cool. Where the main image blends into the clouds looks kind of funny but I guess since it was cut off in the original image, that's as best as you could have done. It's pretty. I haven't many picks with this one.
Bluehawaii19 -- I'm not too sure I like your blending job. The guy on the bottom left's head is cut off too much. Might I also remind you that this is the wallpaper round? There must be space for icons on the desktop, without covering up the main parts of the image. I must say, though, that you did a nice job of getting the lighting the same for all the images.
Chii -- Wow. I don't know if those were brushes or if you actually did all the lines yourself, but wow. It's so unique! I like the random effects though... pretty cool! The text sort of bothers me, because a rainbow usually implies multiple colors (roygbiv), but I guess it could be applied to various shades of blue... hrm. Blue is my favorite color, so you won points that way, haha. I guess the only problem then, is that all the chaos makes my eyes go crazy when I look at it. Yow. *rubs eyes*
Paola -- Gorgeous! I love the color scheme; it's so weird, but at the same time really appealing. Props. The only thing that I dislike is that Sailor Moon's face is cut off in the blending, so you can only see her body. Also, the second girl is slightly skewed; I think you could have stretched her out vertically to make her more proportional. It's slightly busy, but pretty nonetheless.
Neopets Addict -- Ugh. That image is so creepy. *shudder* I'm going to make this quick so I don't have to stare at it for too long. Nice effects, I suppose. I like the chalky brushes. Good font choice. Just remember that wallpapers need space for icons. Now I'm going to close that. Ugh. My skin's crawling!
Dobbitron -- Ahhhh! So cool!! I lurve Charmander
. Good fiery background; it's very smooth. The dots are a bit monotonous though; I think you could maybe blur them or fade them out in some areas, as to keep it from looking the same all around. The only other pick I have is that you chose white for the semi-transparent bar (as I've noticed in your other works). I made the same mistake when I started trying out the bar. Next time, select a color that'll match with the color scheme, like orange or yellow.
Optimus -- On the plain side, but I like it. Most of my wallpapers are plain as well; helps with the space for icons deal. What's with the bar ending mid-background though? I also would have rotated/flipped the guy in the back, just to make it a bit different.
Koku -- Yeesh. It's really, really bold! Although it's really pretty, I'm not sure I could stand it as a wallpaper... my eyes would die after looking at it for a while. You chose a really nice image to work with, but if I'm not mistaken... it was already a wallpaper. Yours is pretty sexy though. I like the slight edge that you added to a really girly image. Yes. Sexy.
Neko -- Pretty background! I love the effects, even though they're a bit on the bright side. They're gorgeous! I guess the only thing is that I don't see where the girl fits in. Maybe you could have tinted her slightly blue to match with the rest of the image. The stroke around "efforescence" doesn't match either. It's also a bit chunky.
Hellyer -- Even though I really like the lines you added, it doesn't look as if you did much to the original image. I must say that I like yours better than the original. The quality is better as well. Good job with blurring out the website url. I like the glow around Henry though. Again with the space for icons. Soccer's sexy, I might add.
Advice to everyone: when making a wallpaper, keep in mind that this will be going on someone's desktop. That means it has to be easy on the eyes; it also has to provide space for icons and menu bar, so that they don't cover up the focal point of the image.
I vote out DM was on fire! and Bluehawaii19.
