Heck, I think all we need to keep all of the votes going is just for each person to copy and paste the list each time they heal/hurt and also mark on the list who they are hurting and subtract accordingly (though it's too late for that now. 
) It completely eliminates the need for someone to having to dig through the posts to add things up.
We can also make it where a person can hurt/heal once every 12 hours. This can easily be checked by comparing to the last post, though that also means that you time it so that you can vote, and then vote again in a couple of minutes.
(Of course, this is copying straight from the Naruto version that is going on over at the Naruto Narutimate Hero 3 on Gamefaqs.)

Before going to bed last night, I played a nice round of SSBM. Roy vs Ness. Ness did not have a chance. I felt very good while falling asleep.
To WIS and all other Ness defenders: I will not vote to Hurt Ness ever, even if it is the vote that will make the kill. A little strategy note: Ness has a ton of HP. He is in no need of help for a good long while. Use the time to attack other characters. The field will easily be thined before you should defend Ness again (~25 HP).
I personally don't mind digging through all the posts, as long as it is after my homework is done, but a little extra help would be great. I think tracking in each post may get a little troublesome when people post at the same time, but that is what the 'Edit' button is for
I like the 'After 1700' rule for posting. It still can be corrupted like you mentioned above (just look at the incident a couple days ago when I thought Blk Mage posted twice). I think round time limits (a set time when a GM or designated rep calculate all the attacks and other effects) are really the only cure for that. That is part of my idea for phase two.
