Results for Immunity Challenge

Valentia has won the immunity challenge thanks to xjox, who sent in the correct answer 8 hours after the contest was announced. Hakunamatata did not send in an answer. The correct answer is:
IXIIXVIVIIII (XXXVIII), IIVXXI (XXVIII), VIIIXIIIXIIII (XXXV), IVVXIIXXI (XLII), VXVIXIXIXXIIXVXIV (XC)

The sequence is actually in a basic numeral code with the numbers 1-26 representing the letters A-Z respectively. The only complication was that they were in Roman numerals. The number in brackets indicate the sum of the numbers before the brackets added altogether, and were provided to help you separate the Roman numerals correctly.

The actual sequence is a simple one regarding the first 5 letters of the Greek Alphabet, namely, Alpha, Beta, Gamma (missing word), Delta and Epsilon.

Reward Challenge details

Only Twizzler0171 replied to me to apply for the challenge. Therefore, you are heavily disadvantaged in that Twizzler will have to garner more points than both of the contestants in the other tribe added together. I will be arranging a time with Twizzler to hold the contest shortly.

The quiz consists of 10 questions (for each contestant), and each must be answered within 10 seconds. No referring to the Neopets site or any other sites is allowed during the quiz. Each questions scores you one point and the tribe which gains the most points wins immunity. In case of a tie, there will be a tie breaker round.

Since the immunity challenge is over, we'd might as well start voting now to speed the game up.

Voting Guidelines

1) Voting will resume normalcy. Vote for people in your own tribe. Hakunamatata shall vote for two while Valentia one. As usual, you have 24 hours to vote.

2) Please adhere to the following format, it makes collating the results much easier for me:

PM Title -
(Name of your tribe) - vote (person/s you wish to vote for)

PM content -
Vote: (Person you are voting for)
(Reason for voting this person) <- I would appreciate it if you mentioned the person's name here again so that I don't have to add it in when posting, in the case where there are two people voted for.

For double votes just repeat the above formula for the second person. Don't include the brackets, obviously.

Honestly, I tried my hardest and I simply could not make heads nor tails of that challenge. Frankly, I'm a little impressed that xjox managed to figure it out.

Well, Twiz, I hope you do well on the trivia.

I tried to work on that challenge, even Google any information I could, but I was just too confused. Sorry to let you down, Hakunamatata.

Good luck, Twiz, on the reward! I was going to send in my application, but my AIM has been acting funny *cry*

Obviously I wouldn't be creating a quiz in which the answer could easily be googled. :P Anyway, here's is the full explanation for the benefit of those still puzzled:

The original sequence was Alpha, Beta, Gamma (missing word), Delta, Epsilon, the first five letters of the Greek alphabet.

I then encoded them using the simple number-for-letter code in which A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on.

This will produce 1-12-16-8-1, 2-5-20-1, 7-1-13-13-1, 4-5-12-20-1, 5-16-19-9-12-15-14.

I then converted the numbers into Roman numerals, so that for Alpha, it would be I-XII-XVI-VIII-I, and so on.

Next I eliminated the dashes between separate letters so as to complicate things further. However, I put the total sum of the numbers in each word in brackets after the word, so as to clue you on how to solve it.

Eg: for Alpha, 1+12+16+8+1=38, I put the number 38 in brackets after the code for Alpha, hence you get IXIIXVIVIIII (XXXVIII). Yes, XXXVIII is the Roman numeral equivalent of 38.

Qanda enters. "The results of the Reward Challenge is out!" He announces.

He continues, "For Valentia, o_0 scored 5 points, while Blk Mage scored 2 points. Twizzler scored 3 points for Hakunamatata. Therefore, Valentia is the winner... as to what the reward is, you'll find out in the near future." ;)

I'm not too shocked, since I knew o_0 was a wiz with neopets things..... good job, though, Twiz. :)

It would have been Rotting Riches. That was actually suppose to be the easiest question, you know? That's why I put it in first place.:P

Easy? Pfft! Only if you scratched those cards. I don't scratch Haunted Woods, unless I get them, and that is very, very rare. I scratch Lost Desert, and occasionally, Terror Mountain!

Might I ask which three I got correct? :P

Ishka feels stupid. o.o But knows she isn't. (Ishka is me. ;))

I scratch them all the time (since you can scratch them once every two hours), maybe that's why I found them easy. Though I knew most people never pay attention to poor ol' Sidney... :P

You got the Kacheek Swim, the Eyrie old name and the draik egg weight ones correct.

Qanda enters, a grim look on his face. "This will be the final tribal council for Hakunamatata, guys. After this, both tribes will be merged into one. Without further ado, I'll go tally the votes."

He opens the bag of voting slips. "My, my," he exclaims in incredulity. "Only 4 people voted! I would have thought up till this stage you all are seasoned and attentive players already... wait - make that four and a half," he says, as he retrieves a voting slip torn into half. "It appears that Shadowfare only voted for one person. I'm sorry, but I will not accept it."

First two votes: jellyoflight and Ziggy
"Jelly, the reason I'm voting for you is you asked to do the reward, but you never came back on to send in your PM.
And Ziggy, the reason I'm voting for you is because you're inactive. As far as I can tell, you've only participated in a few challenges."

Second two votes: Amarise and JellyFish72
"Amarise reason: I'm just scared of old tribal lines in the merge.
Jellyfish72 reason: All about liabilities . . "

Third two votes: Jellyfish and Amarise
"Jellyfish has not contributed much to the tribe. I think that if she had, we would have done better.
I think amarise still has alliances with Valentia... she should be gotten rid of as soon as possible."

Fourth two votes: JellyFish and Shadowfare
"JellyFish because he isn't active.
Shadowfare because she doesn't post as much as the rest...>.<"

"Well, the majority is for Jellyfish72 and amarise, with 3 and 2 votes respectively, but since Jellyfish and Shadowfare did not vote, they will be the ones voted out. Amarise, you are saved by Shadowfare."

The last two people voted out of Hakunamatata are Jellyfish72 and Shadowfare.
