Indeed. Way to overcome my ever-so-restricting "taste" to create magnificent pieces ;)

I think they all deserve to go onto the next round. What? No? That can't happen? Well i tried. :P

Hey, my set's on its way (please don't close the comp on me! ;)). It'll be finished in an hour or two. Great entries so far everyone! I'm blown away by the creativity... so funny!

Edit: Here's my set! Thought I'd go for a not-totally-green look, to be different ;)

Hehe, thanks Flame... good to know I've got a bit more time if I decide I don't like it and want to change something. I did rush it a little, I must admit :)

Take your time. I'm not going to close it for another 3 days, seeing as this round is supposed to end on thanksgiving and I don't feel like posting it then.

The creativity aspect is really amazing this round, isn't it? XD Impressive, really.

Not going to link any of the images, due to the fact that they are all green kacheeks.

Edit: Oh yes. Judges, choose two people this time.

I'll bet that almost all of you hate Scott and me for this round. Anyways.

I'll warn you all now. The judges' ratings this round are most likely to be very contradicting. Though maybe not... It'll be interesting.

Zero
It's a little undetailed looking, despite how bright it is. I'm not overly fond of the grid. The border around the av and sig is a little too dark. There also needs to be something else in the sig background, as the faded head isn't really enough and looks a little strange.

Sapphire Faerie
I had Scott explain the 'o.o' thing to me...lol. Anyway.I don't have any problems with the av. But for the sig, I really don't like the main font you've chosen. It's doesn't match and isn't really smooth looking. Also, I don't like the thin strip of background above the kacheek's head, so maybe lessen the height of the sig a little. And make the double border have 1 pixel of space inbetween like the av does.

Apricus
I adore the av and the placement of the image in it. The text also is a little pale, maybe add only a slightly darker border, but it's not bad. For the sig, I think it needs stars in it like the av. I like the main font choice. The cutouts around the kacheek's head are a tad bit jagged though, and the hair on its head look weird. I'd maybe have not used cutouts and placed the image of the kacheek similiar to how you did in the av.

r4che1
Extremely creative when it comes to the kacheeks' expressions and subtext. The set is a tad plain though. You maybe should've used a slightly more detailed (and maybe darker) background other than the grid. I like the main font choice and placement, as well as the faded bars the text is on.

DM
My stupid computer is making your sig blurry... Okay. Well, the av is a little plain, and I'm not sure I like how the image is placed in it. I don't think the font choice you've used was the best either. For the sig, I love the main font and the colors in it. I've been told it has the same background as the av, which is good because I believe the main focus here is on the text.

laq
I'll tell you right now - The fact that you did not make the sig transparent really ruins this. In the av, there's some white spots around the kacheek you didn't get rid of. The shape of the av and placement of the image of the av are also very unique. In the sig, the text pops out at you. Hm, now that I look at it the background also doesn't match the kacheek too well, but it's not bad.

Marissa
Love the av. I cracked up the first time I saw it. Beautiful job with the animation as well, though the colors you've used are a little bright. In the sig, the cutout job around the kacheek is a little rough. I'm also not a huge fan of the background, but it's alright.

Neopets Addict
No problems with the av, except for the white text. It's too bright against the green. In the sig, the white absolutely kills my eyes. I don't like the spot you've placed the subtext in. Maybe raise it up a little higher. The upside kacheek in the background just sort of looks weird, an the background is a little empty. I do like the placement of the main kacheek though.

mazil
The av is cute, but the black text doesn't go. It doesn't go in the sig either. I like the main font choice in the sig (what is it?). The cutout job around the kacheek is also pretty good, and I like how you've place the kacheek on the green bar.

Neko
I think the text in the av is aligned weird. For the sig, I think you maybe should've used a different kacheek image for one of them, just to add interest. The main text really doesn't go, though I think that's because of the color of glow you used around it. The green bar you've used really doesn't work here as it doesn't stand out at all, and I don't like the font you've used for subtext. (then again, I usually don't.) I also don't like the awkward looking cutouts. But I do like the background.

Knives
The image is a little small in the av. If I didn't know these were kacheeks, It's hard to tell what it is because of the image. For the sig, the design of it is very original, though it is rather jagged around the cutouts and stars. It makes it look sloppy. I like how a kacheek and different part of the text is placed in a different section. The stars are sort of random, but I think they were put there to balance the set...?

I choose Zero and Sapphire Faerie.

Uh, I did trans. it. o_O It's saved as a PNG, so perhaps your browser can not see the transparency? Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me...

I dont see the transparency on the sig laq, as I clearly see the white around it.

And yes Flame, I had to put something there, and I was tired from the day, and stars where the first thing that came to mind. :P yes, I know it was sloppy, last minute thing and all, but the shapes are hard to work with, especially when I got too lazy to figure out how to not let the outer glow overflow the borders of the original picture, and then add a stroke around the new picture with the glow ebbing out. So I had to re-edit it and go back in and so some painful pixel work. <--explains himself. *says bad knives, bad knives!* :loser:

You know... Scott got his Christmas present revoked because of this round. Green = puke. Anyhow.... *shields eyes from Flame's ratings*

Zero -- I don't like the proportions of the sig for some reason. It's nicely done and all, but I don't know. The background is really bright, although I suppose that isn't your fault. *glares at Scott* I don't like the dotted overlay. The background and overall effect are kind of... generic. However, I do love the font you chose (what is it called?) and the text effects work well. The border is too plain and just adds to the blandness.

Sapphire Faerie -- Yay! Different image! Hmm... okay, the subtext is a bit hard to read because of the bar behind it isn't opaque enough. Also, The stroke bevel didn't work well; it looks odd. You might want to try changing the type of borders you do, because the double pixel thing gets predictable. The background effect is cool, and the style actually works nicely this time.

Apricus -- I like it! It's not the creepy bright green shade. *glares at Scott* The background is really cool and the dotted overlay looks good. The big Kacheek head is kind of... out there, for lack of a better word. It sticks out like a sore thumb. If you had made it slightly smaller, it would have looked a ton better. Oh, and where did the stars on the avatar come from? They look nice, but there aren't any on the signature so they kind of look out of place.

r4che1 -- The grid in the background does not work. It is too monotonous and does nothing for the set. Grids should also never be that prevalent. If you use grids, make it an overlay and not the whole background. I like that you used the angry image, but the other ones just look out of place. Your subtext is really awesome. I laughed when I read it.

DM was on fire! -- I love the gel effect that you used for the main text. But you put it underneath a layer of scanlines, which was a bad idea. If you use a slight bevel effect, the perspective is that it's 3-D, which means it should be on top... or it doesn't work. Again, I don't like scanlines to be the prevaling effect for a background. See what you put over the kacheek? Why not use that for the background instead? And uh... the subtext is kind of scary. Kacheeks are supposed to be cute!

Laq -- I love it! It's hilarious; I laughed really hard when I saw yours. The background effect is great. Thanks for not using a bright green. Makes it slightly easier on the eyes. The image on the signature is a bit blurry, making the whole thing look kind of low quality. The main text is too big, and too close to the border. If you shrank it a little so that it didn't crowd the border, it'd look fantastic. Main thing that I don't get: why isn't the signature transparent?

Marissa -- Really creative! It's awesome. The animation is really smooth. Good job! The only complaint I have is that you kept the matte (I don't know how to word it) for the avatar but not the signature. The edges of the kacheek on the signature are chunky, and I think you could have gotten away with using matte.

Neopets Addict -- The background is bland. The kacheek in the background is too powerful and distracting. The subtext should not have a bright green stroke, because it makes it hard to read. When you put a border on text, you need to make sure the colors are on opposite sides of the spectrum so that it isn't hard to make out.

Mazil -- Yay! Less green! It's really cute, even if it is a bit on the bland side. The black subtext and text on the avatar is out of nowhere. Perhaps if you had a black border, it would have worked.

Neko -- Pretty! However, the double kacheek-age is redundant. I'm also a fan of matching cutouts. I think you should have stuck with the border from the avatar; it's really pretty.

Knives -- So. Frikken. Cool. I only have a few complaints. First, all the subtexts are a little hard to read, especially "the jelly". Second, the edges are chunky, which I really dislike. You could have gotten away with matting. That is all. I love it, otherwise.

After mulling over my votes for a while (a really, really long while), I've decided to vote out Zero and Rachel. But the following are being warned: DM and Laq

Edit: I've just read your explanation, Laq, so warning revoked. But try GIFs next time. I'm on IE and I see the big white area around it.

Bad Knives, bad Knives! :P

laq, you're going to have to save it as a gif next time. It has to be in a file where us judges can see the transparency. Because we are rating the set, it's no good if you're the only one who can see it. ;)

Kim, our ratings actually don't contradict each others this time. lol!

Oh dear. Looks like I'm gonna be booted out. And I must have messed-up vision or something because the background seems fine to me. O_o

And the font is GoodDog Plain.

Don't computer moniters stink? Anyway, I really didn't know how to place the picture. Also, I didn't feel like making a main text and subtext so I just used Small Fonts. And the main text font (on my computer, anyway) is called FieldDayFilter. First time I ever used that font.

I tried thinking of a good subtext related to Scott, and the first thing that came to mind was WereWolf. And actually, the scanlines were on the background and I put the main text on burn. I thought it looked kind of good.

Yay, so far I'm safe. C'mon 2 more judges and I'm in round 5! =D If they don't vote me out first. -_-'

Zero-I don't really like the white grid, or the 3D-esque effect on the text. Move the text on the av a little bit away from the border.

Sapphire Faerie-I love the faces, and just the originality of it all, but I'd move the av picture up to the upper left a bit more and move the face to the lower right corner.

Apricus-I love the background, and the transparency of the head and the darkness of the green. It stands out quite nicely among the rest of the sets. The "scottnak" in the sig is a bit hard to read since it's pretty well blended into the background on this screen.

Rachel-The background is almost TOO simple, even with all the images in the background. I like the subtext.

DM-The text is too dark compared to the picture, and the background is a bit plain. Instead of centering the av text, move it to the right side.

Laq-I don't really like the sideways kacheek in the av, and in the sig the image is a bit blurry.

Marissa-Very cute idea. I like the "pow!" effects, and the background in the sig is pretty cool.

Neopets Addict-The background is a bit plain, and the outline of the text, being seafoamish, doesn't make the white of the text very visible.

mazil-Thank you for getting me away from all that green! The light blues match the jelly green very nicely, and make a nice, clean set. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the pixel text is black, which doesn't match. Try using a shade or blue or green.

Neko-I love the technoish background! It's a very nice use of color. The cutouts are nice, and match the style of the background.

Knives-The sig in this set is VERY original. I love the cutouts, but the edges are very pixellish. Good use of puns, too.

I vote out Neopets Addict and DM.

Thanks for the ratings so far, guys :) Good point about the black text... I should've checked it out on a grey bg before submitting it!
