PART 1 (Twisted Sanity)

He sat staring at the night sky, letting himself be taken by it's beauty. The stars just seemed to forgive all, and not care for petty mishaps and errors. He sat still, letting the darkness wash over him. In that small clearing, he would have been almost completely invisible. Only the light of the stars gave him away.

Sighing, Metunius got up slowly and stretched. As much as he loved stargazing at night, he knew he was taking a great risk by sneaking out of the village at night. The lands around the village were wild and dangerous, or so everyone claimed. Metunius hadn't seen anything more dangerous in theses lands than a wild fox that had wandered into his clearing a few nights ago. But, it was still best to be safe. Picking up his bag, he got ready to leave. But before he had walked more than a few steps, he noticed movement in the bushes and trees nearby.

Whatever was in the trees had been there for a while, and had most likely been watching him. It may have just been a harmless animal, but just to be safe, Metunius took his knife out of it's holster and started to back away slowly, never taking his eyes away from the source of the movement. The bushes rustled again, and a small fox stumbled out. It looked at him thoughtfully, then wandered down to the river, just past the clearing.
Very odd, Metunius thought to himself. It looked just like that fox he had seen a few days ago.
In fact, thought Metunius. They're probably one and the same. He started walking towards the river for some reason; curiosity probably. But after walking a few metres, he remembered that the villagers were probably missing him. He was already out later than he promised...

PART 2 (Johnnydontgo)

...He was already out later than he promised, so he slowly put his knife away, still gazing toward the sparkling moonlit river. The tiny red fox soon disappeared from view, so Metunius turned and started toward home. The path through the woods was short, but full of twists and turns that could be dangerously confusing to anyone who wasn't familiar with them. But Metunius had taken this path countless times before, so that danger was all but forgotten to him. He wandered on past the giant oaks and creeping vines, all the while staring up toward the stars, trying to find this constellation, or that shining planet. It wasn't long until he was in front of his own house.

He opened the door as quietly as he could, so as not to wake up Grandpa. As he peeked inside, he breathed a sigh of relief. No candles lit meant no one was awake. He set his backpack down on the floor and pushed the door until he heard it click shut. Suddenly, a spark of fire ignited near the kitchen.
"Sit down, Metunius." Grandpa said while stoking his pipe. "Let's have a chat, shall we?"
I knew it was too good to be true, he thought, as he took the chair across from grandpa.
"I know I was out late, Grandpa, I'm sorry. But one of Mrs. Flatbottom's goats got loose, and I had to spend all this time try-" Grandpa held up his hand, and exhaled a great white billow of smoke. "I know full well what you were doing tonight, lad. It wasn't so long ago that I was your age, you know." Metunius supressed a chuckle and waited for Grandpa to continue. "You're young, and looking to explore. I know this village doesn't hold much interest for you. You want something bigger. Something more exciting. But you must understand that the Village Elders don't make rules just for the fun of it. And the rules must be obeyed. You cannot go into those woods after dark, no matter how safe you think it is." Grandpa inhaled deeply from his pipe, and set it down onto the table. "You'll have double chores all next week for breaking the rules, lad. Don't look at me so pitifully, you'd have it much worse if someone had caught you out there. Now go to bed. Tomorrow you've promised to help me build that fence out back." Metunius knew better than to argue, and sulked up the stairs and into his room.

Lying in bed, close to sleep, Metunius began to dream about the tiny red fox he'd seen twice now. So odd that he'd never seen anything larger than a raven living in that forest, until that fox. He wondered if the fox had a family somewhere far past his clearing, somewhere deeper into the forest where he'd never been...

"We need your help, Metunius!"

Metunius shot out of bed, staring at the window where he could have sworn he just heard someone say his name. He crept over to the window, and saw nothing. He looked all around, perhaps someone had called his name then run away. But he didn't see a thing. Thinking about footprints, he looked down, and saw a tiny red fox with bright yellow eyes gleaming up toward him. "Please," said the fox, "Come with me. You're the only one who can help." Metunius stared, disbelieving. He tried to grasp the situation in his head. Alright, he thought, the fox can talk. And wants me to follow him. But I'm already in trouble, what if Grandpa comes to check on me, and I'm not here? Would he turn me into the Elders?
"Please!" pleaded the fox, "There's not much time before the sun rises!" His head was reeling, it was almost too much to process. He stared down at the fox, wondering what to do...

PART 3 (.:Requiem:.)

Metunius didn't hesitate long. Even if Grandpa turned him in to the Elders, he wouldn't be here. Besides, this was a fox, of all things, asking for his help. He checked to make sure he still had his knife, then clambered out of the window, landing beside the fox with a small 'Whumph!"

The fox looked him over quickly, then fled off into the night towards the forest, leaving Metunius no choice but to follow.

He had to move fast to keep up with the fox, who only just stayed close enough to remain within view. He was sprinting across a small clearing, when it seemed that the ground exploded beneath his feet. He flew backwards, landing at the edge of the clearing and instinctively drawing his knife.

When he looked up, it was into the red slits of a demon's eyes. The beast stood in the center of the clearing, staring at him. Panicked, he cast his gaze around, but the fox was nowhere to be seen.

PART 4 (Trinity)

Metunius sprinted away as soon as he saw the beast. The beast sprang after him, and batted at his ankles softly. He looked down in fear to see a cute black kitten with vivid red eyes, playing with his socks; who in turn gazed up at him with big innocent eyes. The kitten and Metunius maintained eye contact for one split second. As they gazed at each other, the kitten grew instantly into panther size. "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!" he screamed as he ran through the clearing, being chased by the 'kitten.' The boy quickly scrambled up a tree to the very top. As he looked down, he saw the 'kitten', still panther size, sitting at the base of the tree looking upwards, calmly swishing its tail from side to side. Casting his gaze earthwards, he reviewed the three choices that he had.

PART 5 (…Alex)

Suddenly consumed by the urge to slip down from his safe perch and pet the giant-cat-creature, Metunius smiled brightly, staring blankly ahead as he grabbed the branch next to him, and swung down to a large branch below.

Unfortunately, there was no branch next to him, so as he tried to grab it while pushing his body forward, all that he managed to do was look like an idiot as he fell out of the tree.

Wheezing hoarsely as air forced it's way into his lungs, he turned onto his side, the blank look still on his face, and reached towards the 'kitten'. "Niiice kiiitttyyy! What a cute ickle fluffykins you are!" he exclaimed gleefully, petting it. "Such a big adorable bundle of joy! I'd just love to just eat you up, you're sooo cute- AAAAAAH!"

Metunius shrieked loudly as he yanked his hand back from the enormous feline.

Well. It had been an enormous feline. It was now a beautiful girl with purple eyes and raven-black hair.

The cat... girl... thing smiled brightfully, the simple movement of her mouth illuminating her wonderful, perfect face.

"Hello, Metunius," she said, her very voice sounding like happiness itself, "My name is Mary Sue... Follow me."

Mary Sue stood up gracefully and walked away, leaving Metunius wide-eyed as he stared silently, mouth open.

Part 6 (AutumnElf)

Metunius started to follow Mary Sue when suddenly he began to feel very dizzy. Metunius tried to say something but nothing came out of his mouth. Standing still for a moment, finally Metunius staggered and fell on top of Mary Sue. Everything around him went pitch black.

Metunius groaned and opened his eyes. He sat up, shocked. Everything around him looked so big, especially Mary Sue who stood in front of him. "What's going on? Why's everything so big?" he cried. It only came out as a series of grunts and snorts. Luckily, Mary Sue understood him and replied, "You're the one who got smaller. Take a look at your self." Mary Sue held out a mirror and Metunius screamed. In the mirror was a tiny, pink elephant. Metunius felt faint. Mary Sue patted his head and said, "Don't worry. You have a few options. I, luckily, can make a potion to turn you back to normal, but we will need to find some ingredients first. If you want to turn back sooner, I can try a spell a stranger I once met taught me. ((But, er, the results of that aren't garanteed...)) Or you can just stay this way if you want."

Part 7 (.:Chronically Depressed:.)

Metunius thought this through. He wasn’t going to be a pink elephant forever. The Potion would defiantly restore his form but that’d take too much work.
“I’ll go for the spell Mary.” He said to her.
“Ok. If you’re sure.” she said
“Yes. Just do it.”

Mary Sue nodded. She held up her hands and shouted:
“PRESTO CHANGEO!”

Metunius the pink elephant was gone. In his place stood a very handsome and muscular guy, he looked perfect.
“Oh My God Metunius! You’ve turned into Gary Sue!”

Part 8 (CWisgood)

"Gary... Sue?" Metanius asked.

"You know... the perfect guy everyone fights for?" Mary Sue replied, facing him with little hearts in her eyes.

"If I'm really so perfect, why are these stuff stuck on my back!!!!" Metanius screamed. A couple of owls fell down from a tree nearby and hit Mary Sue.

"Ow! What stuff?" Mary snapped, sweeping the owl feathers off her mini-skirt.

"These!" And with that, Metanius turned and showed Mary his back.

Instead of having a muscular back, Metanius had dozens of handy gadgets stuck to it. Among them, Mary Sue spotted an adapter. Next ot it was some screw that looked like it should be used to remove major organs from tiny mammals.

"See what I mean-" Metanius turned- and slammed into a tree. "Ouch."

"Ouch indeed," Mary Sue whispered to herself, as the tree roots creaked and crashed into a boulder, then a Pink Poogle Toy (Yay!) and a small hermit hut (minus the hermit).

"What the..." Metanius tried pulling himself up from the floor, but something he couldn't see pulled him down.

"AWWWW..." Mary yelled, "WHAT A CUTE FOXIE!!!"

Foxie scrambled to its legs and ran in an attempt ot get away from the demented fangirl, dragging Metanius with it.

Trying not to crash into something that happend to lie around, Metanius reached for one of the tools on his back, and pulled it out...

Part 9 (Chipper)

Foxie scrambled to its legs and ran in an attempt ot get away from the demented fangirl, dragging Metanius with it.

Trying not to crash into something that happened to lie around, Metanius reached for one of the tools on his back, and just as he was getting ready to pull out his trusty gadget commonly used to stop foxes running at 170 miles/hour that he had acquired. A large cocoa nut fell smack right onto his head, knocking him out dead-cold.

Metanius laid there for who knows how long - it seemed like the minutes turned into hours, the hours turned into days, and the days turned into months, months to years, etc.

The day had started out a little cloudy but had suddenly turned into a storm. The calm winds were now viscously whipping the tree's, bending the willows almost to the ground. The lightning brightened up the dark grey sky. The rain began to come down like it was a waterfall at full force. The cold wet rain woke up Metanius. As he sat there soak and wet he began to wonder what he was doing their. His mind blank. he could remember. Who was he? Where did he come from, but most importantly where was he going???Suddenly there was a loud roar of thunder. Metanius quickly looked around for shelter from the rain. Noticing a small cave he cautiously entered. Staying near the entrance were the dim light could still come in.

Feeling something heavy on his back he reached back to see what it was. A back pack now this began to bring back some memories. The back pack was given to him by his grandfather, a kind, wise and generous man on the most part. Picturing the last time he saw him smoking on his pipe and watching the great white billows of smoke circling up in the air. The last words he spoke kept echoing threw his head . "You'll have double chores to do next week for breaking the rules. " he said. What rules? What had he done? He couldn't remember.

Metanius's head began to ache from trying to think so hard. As another crash of lightning hit the sky, Metanius could of sworn he saw an image of a fox watching him. Could that have been a real fox he had seen in his room that night? He then remembered a fox telling him that he needed his help. But what would a fox want from boy? How could I be of any help? All these questions kept flooding his mind. It must have been real or I wouldn't be here right now. I could have been home cuddled up in my nice worm bed instead of out in this rain. Thinking to himself he should have stayed at the village even if by now he would be grounded for the rest of his entire life for going out in the woods.

As the lightning bolted threw the sky this time he saw an image of a cat. "Mary Sue," he said, almost screaming, for the thought of her gave him the creeps. He couldn't help taking a look at himself in the steam that went threw the cave just to make sure he wasn't a pink elephant or had a perfect muscular body with some unknown powers. "Whew," he said, as he noticed that he was still just a curious boy.

Remembering now Metanius now had a strong desire to see what that fox wanted. Once again looking outside, he noticed that the rain had stopped and the storm had passed as if it had never happened. All that was left behind was the mud from the rain. He reached into the back pack and took a drink from his water bottle, then filled it with some fresh water from the stream.

"Come quickly." said the fox startling Metanius.

"We have to get their before it gets to late." he continued.

Then the fox took off in a flash about 170 miles per hour.

Taking a bite from the cocoa nut that cracked opened when it hit him on the head Metanius reached once more into his back pack and took out the gadget commonly used to stop foxes running at 170 miles/hour. Upon looking at it he noticed several buttons with a description on them . "It looks Greek or Latin to me," he seemed to say out loud, wishing now he would have paid more attention in School. "Now which one should I push?"

Part 10 (Jasujo)

Metunius stared at the device indecisively and finally made a choice. He closed his eyes and randomly pressed a button. His body felt lighter and everything went quiet and cold for a moment. Then sound and sensation popped back. Before Metunius got a chance to open his eyes, a soft hand covered his mouth.

"What were you thinking bringing a man here? You could have endangered us all!" a female voice whispered harshly from behind him.

"I wasn't about to sit around like the rest of you. I had to do something!" a rebelious, young male voice responded.

"We had word from the North that help was coming. You should not have acted so rashly."

"Yes, but how long were we to wait? We needed help now!"

Metunius opened his eyes and was a bit confused at his current situation. In front of him was what seemed to be a male fox-boy. He stood with his arms folded over his chest and glared petulantly at an older, female fox-girl who was standing next to Metunius. The fox-girl was probably in her 20s and the boy in his teens. She skillfully held Metunius's arms behind him with one soft hand, while covering his mouth with the other.

The brother and sister glared at each other, until the female finally sighed and relaxed her body. "Listen, if I let you go, will you promise to stay here and not make any loud noises? We are not yet in camp and there might be lurkers."

Metunius nodded and he was released. He rubbed his sore shoulders and asked, "What's going on? Where am I?"

The fox-girl looked him over and answered, "You are on the outskirts of our tribe's lands, the D'nash Woods. We have been having conflicts with a neighboring tribe, a group of changlings called the Sonites. I am Fraya and this is my brother Gren. I'm sorry he has lead you into this, but we are in dire need of help."

The fox-boy nodded and looked into the distance. "Our village is ten minutes that way. We must hurry to safety there." The female looked around anxiously, seeming to prod them forward with her will.

"Okay, I'm not sure what is going on, but I will do what I can." Metunius wondered why he was chosen, but thought it was better to get to the village before they ran into anything else.

Gren changed back into a fox and ran off in the direction he had mentioned. Fraya nodded and whispered a swift "Thank you" before changing herself and following. Metunius resigned himself and ran after them, keeping up as best he could.

As they reached the edge of the village, Metunius heard a sound in the bushes and whispered to Gren and Fraya to stop a moment.

Choices

1. Do they check out the sound?

2. Do they enter the village and notify the watch?

3. Do they hide and wait to see if something comes out?

4. Do the fox-siblings whistle to the watch in a secret code, then carefully investigate as to not lead something into the village?

I reckon we should try putting chapters 6-10 (when they're finished of course) into Pink Ink, what's everyone think?

I pick choice 2 so they get into the village and find out more. ;) 4 is interesting, too, though. I pick Twisted Sanity to write the next part. :)

Okay :D I get to write the next part. Excellent :)

I pick part 4. Part 2 would probably be more interesting, but Part 4 makes more sense to do.
