As far as I know, SC was the cheapest in the US...heh, I don't think so anymore. Since the south's oil is all from New Orleans...cheapest on Woodruff Rd. (closest majour road to my house) is $2.91, all Spinx/Sunoco stations are $2.99. And then there's this one Citgo station that is freakin' overprices, it's also $2.99.

So, what's it there? I'm kinda curious.

Overpriced? Please read this article.
http://www.detnews.com/2005/commuting/0 ... 294685.htm

I'm sick and tired of Americans complaining about their 'high' gas prices. I mean, I could understand if you guys were poor. But I really don't think the average American is so poor that they think $3,- is expensive.

We pay 6 euros, iirc. Around 7 dollars. And well, nobody complains. Not even the poorest people. (Well, hardly anyone.)

Gas...well, I pay British Gas about £30 a month for mine :P

Oh...petrol!:D Last time I filled up I paid about 95.9p/litre. It's now up to 96.9p/litre (to give you some equivalence, that's $1.74715/litre in USD, or about $6.61 per US Gallon - $7.94 per Imperial Gallon). I saw a garage yesterday which was selling diesel at 108.9p/litre. That had to be a mistake, that'd be $7.43 per US Gallon :o

We all complain about it but eh, we've all gotta work. I think I need a Prius.

Oh, my gosh. Thanks for the aritcle, Stijn. They're saying that the end of 2006, it could be $5.00 here.

Sparky - I thought you guys were paying high prices, too. Gosh. o_o

Gas above 4 bucks would probably cause riots.

It's at $2.79 a gallon in St. Louis, and that's one of the cheaper joints. Yesterday morning, it was $2.43 at the same place.

While that may be true, the US tends to be a more solitary free-roaming society. I'm not saying whether that's better or worse than anywhere else, but high gas prices, to us, are a shock.

What he said. Though we don't get our gas in St. Louis, the price is just around, if not exactly the same, to ours in O'Fallon (around 20-30 minutes away).

According to my husband, who was just out, the prices are currently at $3.15 USD. Trying to decide if I should fill up before it goes up any further, or just avoid driving anywhere for awhile. Unfortunately, I do have to travel this weekend. How I wish I lived somewhere with a good public transportation system.

I paid 97.7 cents per litre today when I filled up my car.
About 40 bucks in total to fill my car completely. Ten years ago, it would've been half that. It sucks for us in Alberta, we produce oil/gas at an enormous rate, but because we're forced to sell it to Ontario and then buy it back we have to pay out the butt for something we produce.

And Stijn?
Considering how strange it is for North Americans to have high gas prices like this, we're allowed to complain. There are quite a few things I could buy cheaper throughout Europe that I can't get here in Canada. So don't go snarling at us. As well, a lot of us aren't exactly "wealthy" I live under the poverty line when i'm at school. So gas is just one more expense i've got to add to things like food, and text books. So yes, I think I am allowed to complain about high gas prices.

I'm poor enough that $2.90 is a lot for me and my family. And you'd be surprised at how poor a lot of 'average' Americans are. So don't go dissing us because we're complaining. A lot of us do have reason to do so.

Well its 98.9 cents a liter in my town, but pretty much all of the surrounding cities and towns are at $1.25 or so a litre. Personally I think its a lot of money... My friends dad is paying well over 100$ every time he fills his gas tank all the way, and he drives a standard and has a heavy foot so he goes through gas real quick.

Theres this thing going on, apparently no one is supposed to buy gas tomarrow some kind of protest. Its all over the news and radio and everyones like emailing everyone else. My mom told me she got 6 emails this morning about it, and I heard it like 3 times on the radio on my way to go shopping. o_O

A couple cents of 4 dollars per 9/10 of a gallon.

Probably $3.54-9.

I live in NYC.

Update: Just hit 2.99 at every station, at least. Stations along major thoroughfares are all around 3.19.

And here's a great picture for you:

Not if you don't drive. ^_^v Or if you're like me and hadn't been out in a week or so.
