I have two humming bird feeder on my back porch. One humming bird guards the feeders, even though one is at one end of the porch and the other is at the other end. And if any humming birds come near "his" feeder he dive bombs them, which makes them fly away, usually straight at my head if I happen to be sitting or standing anywhere nearby. It is really unnerving to have two humming birds wizz inches away from my head. I've never heard of death by humming bird, but I don't want to be the first. Anyway, I am just wondering if maybe I should get another larger feeder. Or do you think this mean humming bird would just try to claim it as well? Anyway, he seems to think it is funny (if animals have a sence of humor) to make another humming bird fly away and swoop inches from my head. The noise is like "floom" I never exactly see them as they are going very fast. Then he makes a noise that sounds like humming bird laughter.

I think he is just an obnoxious humming bird. I doubt adding a third feeder would make him treat the other birds any better. He'd most likely claim that feeder as well.

Yeah he is a charactor. He has one place he always returns to to sit, and he watches both of the feeders. I think I'll just have to put some feeders in the front now, where he can't see them. I love watching them, I just hope they all get enough to eat. It has been so rainy that I don't know how many flowers have survived. I think they may need these feeders more than ever.

I'd put the third feeder far away from the first two, he can claim it, but he won't be able to hold three at once.

Oh yeah, Hummingbirds are COOL XD

yeh if you put a larger one a real distance away, it probably couldn't hold them. Anyway, it might mean it goes and protects the larger one and you can sit watching less obnoxious hummingbirds learning how to share :P

LOL... A cardinal owns our birdfeeder. He comes there every day. We named him St. Louis.

I would just like to say that you're all lucky duck for getting to even see a hummingbird. :x I ca't even get them in my area. All we get coming to our feeder are pigeons and blue jays. Though it is fun to see them coming to our doorstep. :D

My suggestion would be to add a feeder faaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from his "lookout". That way if he comes to defend that feeder, the others can always go to the closest one to his lookout and keep him busy. :P

Image Thanksies Dawn, sorry I didn't see it before. ^___^

I would say, move the feeder!! Put it further out in your yard where it won't bother you.
