Las Vegas Vacation

Thu Feb 17, 2005 9:12 pm

Well on Thursday I am heading to Vegas fr a family vacation so I won't be on PPT for a while. Anywho, I was wondering if anyone has been and recomends any things to do there? I am only 14 so I can't gamble, but looking around the Net, there seem to be other things to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I saw on this TV show that there is this building where you get in this special suit thing and you actually can fly.

Plus there is a lot of amusment parks.

Oooh, Las Vegas. Uh-oh, you have given me an chance to break out into random song. *Viva las Vegas! Vivvvaaa Las Vegas!*

A kid in my art class just came back from there. I've never been there, but it sounds exciting. Even if you can't gamble, which honestly doesn't soon too fun. (Loosing all your money on a game of cards? Nah, I can do that online!) But Zega, that flying suit thing sounds amazing! I want to check that out...

FLYING...I WANT TO FLY. No seriously, I always wanted to be able to fly :P But that sounds expensive :( Oh well, and there are tons of ammusmaent parks...I found this really cool one. It has some awsome rollar coasters.Click if you like thrill rides!. We may go to Hollywood for a day but probably not because it is a 5 hour drive each way and that would make for a long day.

OO! I live in Vegas! There's so much to do here! On top of the Stratosphere, there's 3 rides: an up/down vertical drop, a rollercoaster, and this thing that tips you over the edge-it's mega scary! There's an indoor theme park at the Circus Circus, and it's pretty spiffy. There's all sorts of magic/other types of shows, like the Blue Man Group and Lance Burton. O, Mystere, Ka, and Zumanity, all Cirque du Soleil shows, are all here, and uh... there are lots of free shows at the hotels, like the dragon show at the Excalibur and the water show at the Bellagio. Hm... there's the Coca-Cola factory and the M&M's factory, and lots of other stuff. Enjoy Vegas!

Stratosphere Tower scares me SO MUCH. :P I didn't really like Circus Circus. I liked Excalibur because I'm a geek like that. :B And I loved the Coke and M&Ms Factories (although they make you pay to go up the Coke elevator ;-;)

Freebies are also cool. There is the explosive volcano at a hotel that happens at an hour interval or so. The water thingy at the bellagio which is nifty. The Sirens(i preferred the pirate one better) at Treasure Island, and i think in treasure island theres the underwater aquarium type thingy. And the best thing of all the buffets that they have there are GREAT!

Let me guide you :P I live in Las Vegas.

First, if you like Freebies, the MGM has a glass lions den where you can go and see the lions. The fire on water in front of the Mirage is spectacular, the Sirens of TI show in front of the Treasure Island, and the Water Fountain Dance in front of the Bellagio. The mirage also has a place where you can go see Dolphins (not free).

Second, New York New York has a "Midway" where you go to play games such as ring toss, horse race (throw balls into the hole to move your horse), skee-ball, etc. Each game is basically 1 dollar or so, and if you win, you win a toy plushie.

The Circus Circus also has the same thing (better in my opinion). They also have an Adventuredome where you can ride Roller Coasters, Ferris Wheels, etc. You can also go bungee jumping. There are also Circus acts for you to enjoy.

The Stratosphere has the rides and shops on the top :P You can see a birds-eye view of Vegas.

Caesars Palace, you can watch free shows in the Forum Shops (shops like Gucci, Versace, Guess, Prada, FAO Schwartz, etc). It also has a BIG fishtank.

Mandalay Bay has a Shark Reef where you can go underground and walk around as sharks swim above and below you.

You can go to the Luxor and see the ancient egyptian artifacts.

The Flamingo-Hilton has a outdoor zoo type thing where you can go and see turtles, birds, penguins, and fish in their natural habitat. (Free)

The RIO (not on the strip) has a "Masquerade in the Sky" - The best free show in Vegas. They throw beads down on you too.

The Paris Hilton is modeled just like Paris, with big fountains, the Eiffel Tower, and inside, there are shops and tasty bakeries.

The Aladdin has a Desert Passage shopping mall.

.....I think im missing alot of places and I will edit as soon as I remember them :P

Have a safe and fun trip!! I am positive that you will like it.

Fun!!! I went to Vegas a year ago, I was 13 I think. It was super fun. We saw Mamma Mia, and went shopping. We were staying @ the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay, and the pools were like the funnest things ever. WAVE POOL! Super fun. Have fun I wish I was going!

Just to let you know... it's raining like mad here in Vegas. Bring an umbrella, I definitely advise you. :)

I am so going to Las Vegas once I can afford it. I am a thrill junkie and won't miss a scary roller-coaster ride for the world! :P

Ohh, Las Vegas. We went there last June and stayed at the MGM :)

The Manhatten Express (I think that's what it's called) at New York-New York is supposed to be good. I didn't go on though :P Even if you don't want to go on the rollar coaster you should still go into the hotel. It looks awesome, and the manholes in the street have steam coming up from then. It looks awesome :D

The fountain show at the Bellagio is pretty neat. Paris looks awesome, even if we didn't go in. I'm not sure about anything after Balley's though, because it was getting late and we decided to take a taxi back to the hotel (acutally, we were planning on taking the monorail thing but it wasn't working -_-).

If you get the chance, you could always go out to the Hoover Dam. That was awesome, but you might not like the road out ther lol. It's really winding, with no street lights, and if you crashed through the guardrail you would definitely die. But Hoover Dam is cool, especially if you like engineering and that kind of stuff. Lake Mead is awesome too. It's this pretty blue color :) After we went to the Hoover Dam, we ate lunch at a restaurant on this dock type thing in the Lake Mead area. And omg there were all these fish! It was so scary lol, they'd like follow you as you walked down the dock. If you dropped even the tiniest bit of food into the water they'd all start swarming lol.

Also, a lot of the hotels have buffets :) I suggest going to one. Pay a certain price and you can have whatever you want and however much you want of both the main dinner foods and desserts.

Vegas is pretty cool, but the downside is that the hotels reek of cigarette smoke -_- And you always hear the slot machines. It gets annoying after awhile.

I went to Vegas in the Summer Holidays. WOW. It was great. I too was only 14, but there was loads to do. We stayed at the Cancun resort, just outside, past the airport from the Strip. I'd reccommend Freemont Street, that was amazing!! Also, If you want to see the Treasure Island Sirens Show, I suggest you get there as soon as the one before it has started, if you want to see it that is :P. Take loadsa water, it gets up to like 110 degrees F during the day, and is still at about 80 after dark. Erm, my family arent really big on rollercoasters, so I can't tell what they are like, although the views from the Stratosphere tower were great, especially after dark. And if you are going to the Grand Canyon and aren't big on bumbpy flights, I suggest that you dont take the light aircraft. The turbulence going over the small range of mountains is terrible, and I had a really bad experience about it. At one point the plane just dropped at an angle for about 5 seconds. Wow, that was scary. Anyway, enjoy your trip. By the way, i thought that Los Angeles was much better (we went on a tour of the West Coast (LA, San Francisco, Yosemite, and finally Vegas)).
