It's that time again...(almost)

Dear fellow PPTers,
I’m going to start off by saying just how great it is to be here. The nice members, the interesting topics, the funny mods, the kid-friendliness...it’s all here. Great, now I sound like a commercial. But PPT deserves one. Nothing a commercial would say would be a lie.
I’ve been through a lot at PPT. I joined because I was banned from IDNQ and needed somewhere to hang out, and I remembered that Strangefire had advertised this place. So I came here. I received a very nice welcome, including a few CCC welcomes (which I didn’t really understand
) and someone saying “Jump on the banned wagon!” At first, I looked for my old IDNQ friends. But I gradually made new friends.
I remember the old days, back before the old PPT went byebye. The Chatbox, for one. The old usergroups. My topic on who was scarier, “us or the authority”, which eventually got split after Fidds posted on it after a long period of inactivity, bringing it back to life. All the memories, good and bad. (The only bad ones were when I got a strike and when PPT went poof.)
The point of all this?
Tomorrow is the second anniversary of the day I joined this here forum.
That’s right. Two years.
Whenever my parents say that chatting with online friends doesn’t help me with social skills, I tell them they’re wrong. I have more friends IRL than I used to. That could only have happened because I have online friends. So I guess I can honestly say that I’m a better person for joining up here. As soon as I wake up on weekends, and as soon as I finish my homework after school (or sometimes even before I finish it
), I come here. I don’t like my real life. PPT is a refuge. My refuge, my teacher, my home. My life.
So I hope you all are proud. You’ve made me happy.

Two years is a long time, and I'm glad you are celebrating your two year anniversay on PPT! I'm so glad that PPT has helped to make you happier and help you even meet more friends IRL. I'm sure that all of on PPT have felt at least a little happier because of these forums. :-D

As yes, the chatbox. How I miss it. And the CCC and ASP. I remember having a few weird runins with them when I was a new member as well.
Heh, you were on of the more active members of the CCC. I rember you Bat Mitzvah also.

Two years? And I was Global when you joined, I think! *feels old* I'm glad you stuck around. You've grown a lot as a person. I agree that online friends count. A friend is a friend.

Says the girl who yesterday came back from spending another weekend with a lad she met online.
People you meet online can develop into great friends- really it's not much different from meeting somebody...out and about.
