Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

While although today is Twiz-Giz's birthday, today also marks the beginning of hurricane season. I've been through quite a few hurricanes, because a lot of them hit SC last year. The first one I went through was when I was 6 in NC. The winds were horrible.
So, along with the discussion of hurricanes, have you ever been through one?

I'm very inland, so no. But we do still get "leftovers" of hurricanes. Risidual weather patterns and the like. Not that they're really any different from our regular weather patterns...

Nope, I live in Canada!
But I definatly wouldn't want to go through one.

No, we don't get many in Wisconsin.
But I am hoping that we don't get as many as last year, I feel awful for all the people that lost property. My thoughts go out to anyone that has to go through them.

I'm in PA, so I've never experienced an actual hurricane. I've lived through a few tropical storms though.

Even though I live up in PA, yesh, I have been through a hurricane. And lived (or did I?

). As some of you may know, I used to live in Saint Thomas. Way back when, I was 3, Hurricane Bertha came and caused chaos there. All I can really remember is that it was really loud; and there were mattresses on the window. And my mom informs me that I fell asleep during the hurricane.

Fortunately, I can't remember the last hurricane to hit Britain as I was only 1 at the time

It was more like a tropical storm than a hurricane though, as the winds had died down a little. And yes, you CAN get tropical storms here. You can get them almost anywhere these days. Freak weather and all. Excpet Antarctica of course

Most of the ones I've been through were broken up, but we still have some horrible ones.
OH! I remember the name of the one I went through when I was 6. 'Tis Floyd. The winds nearly knocked me down. 'Course, I wasn't that big, though.

Well some hurricanes are massive. They could probably knock an obese man over. Or an elephant.

That's true. I was only 60-70 pounds, so...if it could knock a fat man over, I'd still be flying if it wasn't for my grandfather attempting to catch me.

I haven't. I live in Texas, but in the North, so we don't get them. The most we get are light rain from the edges.

Eh, I live in New Jersey so I don't get many. Though according to my mother we had a pretty bad hurricane not too long ago. My memory is full of holes, since I don't seem to remember this.
We get really strong winds though. You know, like, hold-onto-a-street-sign- pole-or-else-you'll-fly-away-winds.

Hm I've been through a tropical storm, Allison I believe it was, back in 2001. My dad had to go into downtown at 3 A.M. (we live about 30 miles from downtown Houston and he had to find his way to the hospital(where he works) because of the water) to set the hospital back up on its feet. He keeps all the computers running basicly. It was rather boring, it started flooding by my house but it stopped like 2 feet from my front door O_O

I live in Illinois. If a hurricane makes it inland that far, I think we'd be in trouble. o.o
And I've never been anywhere like Florida, so nope, never experienced a hurricane. From what I've heard, I probably wouldn't want to.
