Mom and I will get her on Sunday, a new addition to out family! I'm still in Belgium, and I'll fly back home on Friday, but you can only imagine how excited I am.
Last November one of our miniature schnauzers passed away, then, in March I think her sister, and out last dog, passed away as well. Both heartbreaking moments in my life, but also new beginnings.
Mom has been looking for a puppy for quite a while now, either a miniature schnauzer or a... well, guess
A Dalmatian! Her name is Kleopatra-Klaara, I'm not sure what we are going to start calling her, but Klaara seems to be the obvious choice.
By what mom has told me I know that we get her for a bit less money, as she has an eye-color defect; one brown and one blue, I think that is just cute though.
I'll be sure to post some pictures on next Monday! *happy happy happy*

Aww! I bet she's adorable! Me and my dad want a puppy but my mom doesn't want to replace our dog that passed away a year ago. She thinks it's still too soon. Sometimes I do too. We'll get another dog when we're all ready. We already have another dog anyway but I think she gets lonely. Bless.

You wish
My friend made a suggestion quite a while ago, "Alibababamilja", I sincerely hope she was not being serious, at all.
Ah well, she'll probably get the name "Klaara", as I said, so don't get overly excited with the name-suggesting

Actually you spell that with an x and i, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. However, moving back to the matter, no, I don't think so

Reminds me of the good ol' days when we bred miniature schanuzers, puppy-poo inferno!

How old will the puppy be?
At 4 months, they loose LOTS of teeth.
And get a squirt bottle when the puppy pees or poops on the floor.
Squirt the puppy and shout "NO!"

I bet European Dalmations are better then the american ones. The ones here got way overbred when 101 Dalmations came out. And now a large percentage of them are deaf.
But yay!
I really do think Dalmations are adorable, you should snuggle it lots and play with it lots, and love the time when it's a puppy, and I know you will!

You'll have to have pictures! I wanna see!
Puppies are so cute! *gush*

She will be about 9-10 weeks old. And don't worry, my family has had dogs since I was born and as I've said we've even bred miniature schnauzers so we (me included) know how to handle a puppy

Personally I don't believe in physical punishment when it comes to raising a puppy, a good owner doesn't need to use such methods, dogs are smart and by just passive training by taking them outside whenever they seem to need it has worked fine with all our other dogs.

I'm not sure, but it sounds about right that they might be better. As far as me and my mom have looked at Finnish Dalmatian-kennels and their web-pages the parents of the puppies didn’t have any defects. Do you know how usual it is with Dalmatians there that have brown spots? They seem to be quite usual here to my surprise. Klaara however has black spots.
I promise to spend my every hour on taking pics of her (and posting them here

) when I'm at home

I think Silja probably knows about dogs, seeing as she's saying she used to have some, but..
I wouldn't reccomend that. Not even the shouting. Say no, and don't squirt it. Accidents happen. No need to get the puppy to associate it with pain or discomfort, that won't help.
Its like... Tell your dog to sit. It doesn't sit, so you scream at it and squirt it. Its not going to teach the dog to sit, its going to scare the heck out of the dog and it'll be worse behaved than it was in the first place, because it will think that sittings a bad thing.
I want to say Be happy you got a puppy, but seeing as you have't got it yet I don't think its appropriate. And I don't remember what else I was going to say.

Oh, congratulations! I've always wanted a dog especially a Dalmation, I hope Klaara brings you a lot of joy. And do post the pictures, I would love to see it.

My Mom wanted to share that Dalmations need ALOT OF ATTENTION and a big place to run around...
Also...
The squirting is for bitting and accidents only.
