What are you motivated by?

Sun Jul 03, 2005 10:49 pm

I, personally, am motivated by fame and fortune. This may taken as a selfish act but I will not be motivated if someone says "Think about how good you'll feel at the end of all this".

But based on a personal experience, even though I was motivated by fame and fortune, in the end, I felt very good about myself and could care less about my fame and fortune.

Therefore, what are you motivated by?

Personal achievement. At the moment anyway. It makes me feel good when i achieve something i've set my sights on.

Personal achievement. Memories last longer and pride always comes before a fall.

Personal Achievement. I dislike attention somewhat, and I like to better myself.

Revenge.
so i guess that falls under personal achievment.

I guess it's closer to personal achievement. *clicks option*

lol, I think I feel the same. Honestly I don't know what i'm motivated by. I'm just not.

As much as I would want fortune, it's my personal acheivement that I want. I don't care if I get the highest score ever on the chemistry regents I took last month, I just want to pass. That way I won't have to take it again. I absolutely hate chemistry and a 65 will do just fine.

Um, nothing, really....O.o

EDIT: Post # 1000! Yay!

Personal acheivement at the moment. Some things make me feel like I can take on anything in the world. In reality of course, I can't. But I just ignore that little fact when convenient. :P

Right now, mainly a bad case of schadenfreude.
And besides that, both of the above options. I see them as somewhat indistinguishable.

Fame and fortune motivates me best. Heh. Though I do feel good about myself in the end... sometimes... ^^;

honestly, there pretty similar.

I don't think theres a person around not motiated by fame and fortune, thats just how we're conditioned. But at the same time, feeling good about yourself is just as important.

So, if I had to kill to be rich and famous, would I?

Good question, I wish I had the anwser.

Tsk, tsk, Mr. Super Editor. :P

Back on topic, I agree with Dan (though his spelling/grammar is scaring me right now), now that I think about it. If you truly think about it, there's not much of a difference.

But mainly this post was to make fun of Dan. Though I really do agree. Promise.

In my case it really depends on what I'm trying to achieve. There are some things that you can only do for personal achievement and others that you do for fame and fortune.

I agree with Xil though. They're way too similar. Everytime I think about times when I'm motivated by fame and fortune I can tie it in with personal achievement as well.
