I'm having my piano exam on August 8th, and 9:00 in the morning (sooo early...).
So, does anyone have any tips? Not that I haven't played in an exam before, but tips to improve, while I still have the chance...
Or can anyone share their (I'm-sure-that-it-must've-been-absolutely-terrible) experiences with me!!

Try not to laugh at the examiner. I know that bald head and the way they say 'pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeassssssshe' should cause you fits of laughter, but refrain. Otherwise they'll look at you weirdly.

Practice like hell.
Again and again and again.
I play sax, and passed every exam I've taken in it by 2 marks. And I didn't practice very much.

Coming from the person who got Distinctions in violin and piano, and then gave up, you really have to practice.
... though maybe my advice will make you give up too.
... ignore me.

Fortune favours those who are prepared.

Practice, but if you get bored or sick of it, have a break. I used to take piano lessons (OK... only for about two weeks) but gave up because I didn't find it fun anymore. That and because I have no muscial ability whatsoever.

I had mine in June. I slacked off a bit during the year, so I was a bit unready, but I passed my Grade 6 with honours (72, and first time in an exam). Like everyone else has said, if you just make sure you know your stuff you'll be fine.

Hehe... thanks everyone...
I think I'll go on the internet and try to find my songs... maybe it will help me to know the style of my pieces...

Yay someone else going through the same insanity I am...taking piano exams in the summer! Yep, taking my RCM grade 10 this August 19th *gulps*...
As for tips, I probably need them just as much as you do, but whatever you do, don't get nervous...RELAX, I swear it makes all the difference in the world =P
And yeah, listening to your pieces being played is really helpful for thinking of phrasing and such =) And in the end, it's just a lot of practice heh. Good luck.

You have 11 more days to practise than me!! And you're grade 10 too. I'm only taking the RCM Gr 9 exam, but today I looked at the grade 10 book and I'm like... fainting... so much small notes and rests and such.
And I always try to relax, but my fingers always gets sweaty and then after I slip!! I swear that happens ever time =D.
And good luck on your exam too!

As everyone else said: practice, BUT be sure you're paying attention to all of the dynamics, articulation (or whatever they call it on piano...accents?), and the other little details in your music. Your examiner(s) do notice those things, and if you pay attention to them you'll pass with no problem.
