My friend is in China!!!

One of my good friends is adopting a little girl from China! They are over there right now, and it is really weird because she is like, emailing me from China to the United States. (sorry, it seems strange to me...)

I once saw this one hour documentary on americans flying to china to adopt girls. ( Wasn't there once some kind of law in China that forbidden families to raise more than one girl? )

She is really excited too- the only thing is, that the girl wont let her new parents get close to her. She only lets my friend feed her and hold her and stuff!!!


It's so sad becasue you know how in china you can only have one child? Well, some parents have a child, find out its a girl, and put her in the orphanage so they can try to get a boy!!! Isn't that awful?!?!?! So there are like, thousands of homeless girls in orphanages... their parents don't want them!

Thats why I'm so happy for them for adopting her. Here is another pic!

I'm really glad they're adopting too! It's really nice and thoughtful of them.

I think I might adopt too, it depends. Although I sort of want my own child, that's a little impossible under the current circumstances O_O.

I would adopt too... only it takes foever for you to be elegible to adopt- don't you have to be a foster parent first? And plus, I am pretty sure it costs a fourtune to adopt one from a far away country. But I might just try anyways when I'm older.

There is a one-child policy that is still in existence, although there are some exceptions to that rule (for example, twins). One child means either one son or one daughter and some people prefer sons over daughters.
