This hurricane isnt as bad as hurricane Katrina because it like just became a hurricane this morning, but hey... heres the linkie... >
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9201397/ i feel kinda bad for florida because
If it hits Florida, it would become the third hurricane to strike the state this year and the seventh in the last 13 months.
... now i dobnt want to live in the coast states anymore... maby in like.. galveston, they've only been hit like twice... or so... and i lovew the way the houses are built..... or i might stay in this city...

Oh, that one won't be bad. And it's not south Florida, finally lol.
You shouldn't be afraid of living on the coast. It's mainly Florida that gets hit, the rest of the states are relatively safe XD.

Florida's a really cool state to live in! Well teh temperatures get kinda warm but you get my point.
I've seen some models bringing it right through my area...just what we wanted, more makeup days for school.I really shouldnt complain though unless it's a really strong one, I rather like watching the wind though

I can't believe that Floridians can breathe. When Lillie was going on about conditions in Zircon in Twelfth Kingdom, I had memories of that choking Florida air. And it's so flat. I have no desire to live in Florida, but it has nothing to do with hurricanes.
The hurricane is called Ophelia, by the by. It would be a little ironic if it were too fierce, but last I heard, it was headed away from the coast, so...

Yeah, I know what you mean, as I lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, for 5 years, and when I go back I choke because even though Austin has high humidity, C.C.'s is much more.
Oh, and Galveston isn't that safe, because it's right on the Gulf of Mexico.

I just looked on CNN. They're expecting this to hit South Carolina but it's BARELY a hurricane. 75mph? If it dropped 2mph it would be a tropical storm. I don't think people should really be worried about this one.

I feel horrible for thinking this, but it was my immediate reaction.
I almost regretted that Katrina hadn't been called Ophelia, simply because I think the Hamlet connection would have made the entire horrible event more poetic.

Hey. I am in Wilmington NC right now and the hurricane just ended. It was around 90mph and did alot of damage. Power was out for most of the night and school is still canceled.

I heard Galveston was pretty much flattened by a hurricane in the early 20th Century.
