A huge round of applause for JASUJO.

Sat Sep 10, 2005 10:52 am

Here's the scene.

Igg is mooching about upstairs, about to run a bath. The doorbell goes.

And my brother says, 'oh, it's probably just Geoff'. I don't know how Geoff is. 5 minutes later Péter shouts me downstairs to meet 2 absolutely HUGE cardboard boxes that I can barely get up the stairs.

Carboard Box One has an assortment of toys and gifts for myself, including a lovely soft piggy, a gumball machine (hell yeah) and other things..

Cardboard Box Number Two contains 48 packets of Ramen (so 96 servings, genius) and 4 'Instant Lunches' (that's pot noodle, basically, Brits).

So much stuff, and all from our lovely mod Jasujo.

Loathe as I am to use the word, I was (and still am) absolutely gobsmacked at her kindness. Even though I don't know where on Earth I am meant to put the noodles.

I love Jas. :)

Haha. XD I forgot about the gumball machine. :) I had Tim take a picture of everything before we sent, so we'd remember everything, but I don't know where it is now. lol

The last 6 weeks have been utterly painful waiting for those packages to arrive. :) I was so worried you wouldn't like everything we picked out. :P Yesterday morning I was afraid maybe the customs dogs smelled the chicken in a biscuit crackers and the packages were being held up. I pictured two heavy guards sitting around the boxes snacking on crackers, cookies, and ramen. haha :)

I'm so glad you liked everything and it all delivered well. Next time I think it might be cheaper if we just bought tickets and brought them over ourselves.

hehe you sent it ground didn't you? that thing takes forever. I was told it would take like 3 to 6 weeks. I hoped for the 3 weeks, I think it took 6 though. Poor Jim got his christmas present like in Febuary :P . I too sent food and Jim thought some guy Miguel had eaten it and the package would never arrive. I also thought customs had held it up because the dogs sniffed it. I sent ingredients to make smores which I was sure would be stale and gross by the time he got them, they weren't stale I don't think. Jim just doesn't fancy our chocolate bars, apparently hershey is gross and bitter. I on the other hand I'm not against any chocolate, they all came happily get in my belly.

I can't believe you sent 48 packets of Ramen. Igg is so tiny that's like 2 years supplies of food for her :P.

She said she couldn't get ramen where she lived and that made me very sad. :( I couldn't have that, now could I? ;) lol Then I went shopping and it all went downhill from there. haha :)

Oh man Jas XD That's awesome. Ramen rocks, too--Igg, you could probably eat ramen for the next few months or so and never run out. XD

Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:56 pm

I can eat it twice a week for nearly a year. :D

I have had about 4 packages of Ramen in my entire life.

Jas, this is your cue to drop some emergency Ramen supplies in my backyard. :o
