Litter gratuitously and claim diplomatic immunity! That'll teach those authoritarian islanders a thing or two!

The food! (especially at hawker centers) They have such yummy foods over there.
If you have the chance, visit a hawker center to have some chicken rice, kway teow, and cha siew pau. And don't forget to try Ka Yun's kaya toast, it's delicious (kaya is a kind of jam, made from coconut milk and eggs).

I think our friend here might come back in 6-8 weeks in 6-8 pieces if they did that.

I believe you're allowed to chew it, just not allowed to sell and/or buy it there.

You want a whole nother news story about caning don't you?

As for the gum thing I wasn't aware you couldn't buy it there or sell it, I just thought that you were supposed to dispose of it properly or else you could be fined. What else is there, fining for not flushing in the bathrooms, no spitting on sidewalks I think....you should really search the laws and such or see what advice people have about their customs, you don't want to look like a total tourist ya know.

I'm not exactly sure myself, that was what my dad told me. (Funnily enough, we were just talking about it this morning) He told me that it was banned because the government didn't want ugly pieces of gum on the sidewalk and all that.

Anyways, it's not a problem with me or anything. I never eat gum =).

Singapore is supposedly famed for its chicken rice.

Also, visit Sentosa Island if you can. Awesome tourist attraction.

This thread was started in September. Ususually, we don't post on threads that are that far back. Post on the more newer threads (mostly the ones at the top of the page) and you can't go far wrong :)
