Favourite Letter-ender!

Sun Sep 11, 2005 6:33 pm

Ok, so letter-ender isn't exactly the right word, but I've forgot it (oops!!). There haven't really been any new polls now, and I want to add something random to talk about so...

What's your favourite Letter-ender?

If you don't know what that means, I mean the part you put before your name, e.g. "Yours truly", "Love", "With gratitude", etc.

I'll usually put "Sincerely", unless it's with one of my relatives, then I'll put "Love". Or "Your best friend" if it's to my best friend.

Letter?

In the peculiar circumstance of writing something, I just put 'Your Sincerely'

Much Gratitude,
Paul.

Sincerely or From. If it were to be a love letter then Love, but I haven't had to write one of those yet...

I like "Love," or "xoxo,". But I don't write letters! Does email count? I write either "xoxo," or "-Dianna" on emails. Okay, forget the "Love," bit.

I usually sit there for 10 or 15 minutes trying to decide on the closer. In the end, I almost always go with Sincerely. I rather dislike it, because it's so impersonal. But on the other hand, I'm afraid of being misinterpreted, etc... *sigh* I think about things like that way too much.

If I'm writing an emai, I won't add anything except for my name. Unless it's to one of my immediate family members, and then I'll put love, or else they'll get all huffy if I don't. >_<

For formal letters I do it the "proper" way, ie using "Yours faithfully" when I do not know the name of the person (Sir/Madam) and "Yours sincerely" when I do know the name. I don't really write letters to friends or relatives, heh but on birthday cards it's usually "Love from" or "Lots of love from" depending on the person :)

I usually say "Yours," unless I'm trying to be cryptic, in which case it will have something to do with the message I've been trying to convey.

Depends who your writing too, though i usually conform to the Traditions set down by my Language.

though quite often i leave with a Long list of my Pseudonames.

Love, Holly if I'm writing to someone I care about...

-Holly or just Holly if I don't know them as well, or if I'm emailing. The only time I'm remembering I ended an email "Love, Holly" was to Lillie, even though I'm sure I've done it overwise.

I almost always put 'love'.

I'm very tactile in person, and it spreads to my writing, I guess.

I used to do sincerely, now I just use love..I think.. I'd like to start using "God Bless" and/or "In Christ" though.

I always use

"Much love"

Sun Sep 11, 2005 9:17 pm

I use "Best wishes", mostly.

But I rarely write letters, I don't like 'em. o.o
