At last, I have it!!

I've been working on a book (possibly a series) for about a year now. During that same time I've been harassing my parents for a private comuter or laptop (ie, in my bedroom) so I can finish it.

Finally, last night, my mom caved. She decided that I've proven my responsibility, and is lending me her work laptop. It's not perfect, but it'll do. So right now I'm posting from 'my' brand-new laptop!

It's so much easier doing things with your own computer isn't it? Soon enough you'll forget how you survived without it!

(This is coming from the gal who has had her own computer for the past 3 years and is almost constantly on it. ^_^ )

I read the topic title and went "The flux capacitor?!" ...I need to get out more.

I try to write, really, I do. But I've found that, often, while at my computer, I have way too many distractions. Even if I were to disconnect the internet, I'd still be tempted to listen to music, play solitaire, make graphics, etc.
So lately, I can't seem to get any serious writing done unless I pull out an old spiral notebook and a pen. Which sucks, because writing longhand is so much harder than typing.

I do all my serious writing in a notebook. Dunno why, I just write far better when I'm actually writing than when I'm typing.

I totally agree with you. I always get discracted to the MSN buttons, the Internet button, and all that. Unless I'm writing poems, because the paper doesn't usually have enough space for me. But if I'm writing a story, paper and pencil is a lot better.

Congrats! Having just gotten my own laptop last month I've found that when I have to give this one back at the end of the school year (Laptop loan through the university) that I'll be buying my own lol!
