Interesting article about online communities

Fri Dec 02, 2005 12:13 pm

Hi all, found an article in my local newspaper that I thought you might find worthy of 10 minutes of your time.

It's at: http://www.theage.com.au/news/livewire/ ... 97212.html

It's pretty Australia-centric (as you'd expect from an Australian news source) but I think the same principles apply worldwide.

Edit: Punctuation fix.

I like that. It's nice to see something in the media being positive about the internet for a change.

YES! An article that accurately represents online communities for once!

Well, to be fair, the more negative articles aren't entirely false. There are dangers in using the internet.

But I agree that it is nice to see a positive article. I hope that there will be more of these kinds of articles in the future. :)

I agree, i get really tired of old farts saying the internet is something from the devil, when old people say that now, i just laugh, ( okay im using slang  , so shoot me ).

It is very Australia-Centric, which makes me depressed, as it always does.
