Would you dye a dog?

Mon Dec 05, 2005 2:55 pm

Someone rescued a white dog from a shelter. It had discoloration around the eyes that made it look nasty, so they used a special dog safe dye to dye black around the eyes, and then I guess they thought "What the heck?", and finished dyeing the dog to look like a panda. I think it is cute and well, after they did that lots of people want one. And I guess it helps some dogs get a home that would normally be put down, so I think everyone wins.

It is cute...

Hey, if the dog doesn't mind, then go for it.

Sure, if nothing negative comes out of it.

Maybe for those mamby pansy little dogs, but nobodies getting near my two dogs with that stuff. I wouldn't own a dog that looked like that unnaturally. Nor would I dye my dog (unless for who-knows whatever sort of medical reason I had too).

I would never do that to Mina! All the other dogs would make fun of her.

...

But if I COULD, I'd make her look like a tiger. :roflol:

That would rock, a lot.

Aww, that's so cute. If the dye is non-toxic, I don't really see any problem with dyeing a dog's fur.

I used to dogsit for a family who would dye their poodle blue every now and then. It was actually pretty adorable, in a strange sort of way. I got a lot of weird looks walking a blue dog down the street, though. It was a little embarassing.

One time my sister put little rainbow streaks in my westie's fur. It washed out pretty easily, luckily enough. I didn't want to be that girl who walks a bunch of weird-colored dogs.

Hmmm...have you got a picture? I'm sure somebody here would be happy to give you a photoshop preview.

As long as it has no harmful side effects and the dog is happy... :)

*awwwws over the panda puppy*

Thats so cute, I like that idea. People are always looking for the next best pet trend, I think they might've found it.

My aunt runs a dog grooming shop in San Antonio and several 'hoity toity' women have come in to get their dogs dyed pink. She uses Manic Panic.

Aw, that's really cute.

I don't think I'd ever dye a dog of my own, though. Numi's adorable just the way she is. <3

I saw that on CNN a couple weeks ago, that is just so adorable.

What kind of dye did they use? I'm kinda uncomfortable that it's so close to the eyes.

Me neither..

I just think it is unneeded.. if you're not gonna take a dog for it's heart, you're taking it for the wrong reason. So what if it looked mean? I look mean sometimes, too. :P
