Serious Trouble..

Fri Dec 30, 2005 5:52 pm

I'm having some serious trouble with my computer. It is only 5 months old and I don't know why it is doing this.

I can't open two browser windows without one not responding. If I have two programs running at the same time [Ex- Internet Explorer and AIM] it freezes, turns white and doesn't respond. I can't copy and paste anything in my profile on AIM with out it not responding. And every hour or so all of my IMs freeze and about 5 minutes later they respond again. Also occasionally my IE window will just not respond.

This is a huge hassle and disconvience. I already ran a virus check.. Nothing. Is this happening/happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: I also remember that my screen saver doesn't come on anymore, neither does the password screen.

If you're having problems with IE, try switching to Firefox. It has the ability to have different web pages in the same browser window.

As for the program thing, check your memory space. Do a disc clean-up and a defragment.

One question though, have you downloaded any programs recently or installed any new software or hardware?

I've recently downloaded iTunes. I'll try the disc clean-up and a defrag.

Actually, it may be related to iTunes.

Here's a quick question:
Do you use Windows 2000?

Or, do you have Norton Internet Security?

You may be having some resource and memory problems too.
How much memory does your computer have?
