I was just at the FIRST robitcs kickoff at the Ontario Science Centre. If you don't know what FIRST is, you can go to
http://www.usfirst.org/ and find out anything. it's actually a really awesome program.if you live in canada, or at least toronto, there are commercials for FIRST on the discovery channel. robotics seems all boring and nerdy, but it's really not. it's more like a sport than anything else. except, i'd say it's more involved and intense. and there's also the gracious professionalism thing. robotics is so much a part of my life. the only reason that my gr9, last year, was so awesome, was because of robotics. the people, the trips, and free food, and just the good feelings and involvement that you get from it is amazing. and people from all walks of life are in robotics. it's not just robot people, but anyone can join and be successful. there will be a place for you in robotics, no matter what you do.
anyway, i'm in team 188, the original canadian robotics team. if you went to the wonderland off-season event in september, i was the human player. the guy with the awesome red hockey helmet.
