Coke, Pop, Soda, Fizzy, *aah!*

What do you call your soft drinks? Also, is it a regional thing or just a habit? I'm actually really interested in how people refer to cold, refreshing canned drinks.

I believe it is regional. BTW, I prefer bottled instead of canned. (Easier to leave sitting around and not collect dust, insects, or spill).

ACK! I have something very very important to contribute to this:

I usually call them Carbonated Beverages.

I basically always say soda...I guess usually I call both Pepsi and Coke 'Coke,' and 7UP and Sprite are interchangeable.

...I call it soft drink o.O

If it's in a can, I call it a can, if it's in a bottle I call it a bottle.

Soda. Cause soda is soda.

Though I do agree the terminology is regional.. here in NYC, you have everyone calling it everything.

I call them soft drinks. Regional thing, I believe :) Though I don't really say "soft drinks" anymore, I just say exactly what it is - coke, sprite, cream soda, etc. ^^;

Soft Drink is Soft Drink... right? :P

I know my Grandparents call any black drink Coke and everyting else lemonade, but everyone else I know just calls 'em either by their name, or just soft drink.

I grew up for the most part in Ohio where it's commonly known as "pop" but had to revert to using "soda" when I lived in Los Angeles the last 5 years since all my Californian friends like to tease me about using Midwestern wording.

:)

Soda. It's obviously regional as I know a lot of people that refer to it as pop.

Soda, because thats what it is.

It has to be soda.

One thing that annoys me is when I'm buying a Pepsi and someone says "Coke?" and I correct them by saying "Pep-see", and they're like "That's what I said." >_>

Coke is a company of a single soft drink, not all of them. x_x

It's a very regional thing. :P

(I love how biased the poll is in it's choices. :P)

I say fizzy pop. :)

I call it soda. I don't know anyone around my area that calls it anything else. :P
