And their names are...

Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:11 pm

But you see; that's the problem. They don't quite -have- names yet.

My dad got two kittens today. =D He was in town, and while he was listening to the radio, some people called in giving away two kittens. So he got them. ^-^ Evidently the poor things had been abandoned, and the people that called in found them up in a tree a few days back during a snowstorm.

Anyways, when we got home, dad brought in the cat food and stuff. I came in quietly a few minutes later (with the kittens), with my back towards my mother so she couldn't see them. Mom looks down at the bag, and she thought it was rabbit food, so she started yelling at my dad because we already had plenty of that. So I waited until she started yelling about getting cat food when we didn't have a cat, and then I gave a light giggle-cough and turned around. She looked over and saw not one, but two kitties. ^-^

So we need to figure out names for them. They are both females. Unfortunately, I can't get any pictures of them at the moment. =(

The first one has a black back and face, which turns white for the mouth area, chest and stomach. She also has a white blaze going up her nose. One of her hind legs is mostly black, with a white sock. Then two (the other hind one and one of the ones up front) other legs are mostly white with black spots on them. The other front leg is white.

She is the more outgoing of the two - exploring things and looking around and stuff. She also has a really loud motorboat (purr), and if you can get her to stay still, is a real cuddler. She also keeps trying to get into my soda. =P

The second one is more tabby-colored on her back, and has a black 'beard' and 'moustache'. Otherwise, she looks about the same as her sister - although she's a little bit bigger.

She is more shy and cautious. If you have her in your lap, she'll stay there for a bit, but she's not as likely to purr. We think that once we have her a bit longer, she'll open up a bit more.

I've only known them for a little over an hour, so my first impressions may be off a little, but yeah. ^-^

Oh, yes -- they love to give us kisses.

One suggestion (of which I may potentially have many) is: Bambi and Flower.

My step-dad used to have to really old cats that sound just like those two (except one was male), and that is what they were called. We had a thing about naming out pets after Disney characters for many, many years.

Another suggestion for one of them is Hina. That is the name of the nekomimi character at a site I frequent. Here is a pic if you want to compare. She was the first thing I thought when reading the description you gave. (Not going to post a direct link to the site since it is for 18+ in some parts).

Just throwing that out there. I hope you like the idea :D

Hehehehhe, the first kitty sounds like a Panda! (as in... when I read your description, I thought of a Panda)

Here's a good site for Cat Names- http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/6913/magicat.htm

"Spick" and "Spot" are cute names.

My friends had two cats called Tickle and Poke which I thought were the most adorable names ever!

I have this weird thing where the only names I can think of for cats are all related to foods, usually sweets (cookies, candy, etc.). For the black and white one "Oreo" and for the other one "Pieces" (short for Reeses Pieces, since they're brown, orange, and yellow...kind of tabby-ish colors). Good luck picking out names! I'm sure they're both adorable!

I did something like that once. I was actually trying to get the kitten past my mom, so I hid her under my jacket. I thought I'd gotten away with it, until Mom said, "Chrissie, you seem to have a tail."

As for names, how about Domino and Peanut? Yay for stereotypical cat names! (Okay, I'm really bad at coming up with names. Hence why the aforementioned kitten is named Treeflower.)

How cute! :)

Panda might be good for the first one, as Ria suggested.. for some reason I thought Squishy.. that's a really weird name, but I came up with it cause she likes to cuddle.. :P

Uh. You should name one Twizzy. ;P No, not really.. how about.. Lola for the second? :O Urm. Jane (iunno), Pickles (still dunno), Baby, Bubbles.. :O Okay yeah, I'm done.. :P

Have fun with your kitties Izzy!

...

IZZY! :D

For some reason, I read that as Crackers and Cheese

Oh my gosh...the first one, the black and white, sounds IDENTICAL to my kitty, Bumper.

How about 'Moxie' for that one, since she's so outgoing?

Sat Jan 21, 2006 4:30 am

stormy for the more outgoing kitty, and ashley or atreeah (yeah, I just made that up) for the quieter, more shy kitty since they were found in a tree in a snowstorm?

I don't know, all the cats in this house have people names.

Thou art hereby forced to name one kitten "Panda" and the other "Dog".

Sat Jan 21, 2006 4:40 am

Dog? You can't do that to the poor kitty. Besides, cats like the e sound. Don't know why, but they do. Even our cats that don't have an e name, like Harry, have a name that you can use an e sound as their nickname. Our Isabel's nickname is Izzy.

Well, I was going to say "Clucky" and "Kuge" but they I read they were both girls. So mayby "Fidds" and "Jas" would work better as names :P .

But yeah, I like Kugetsu's idea. Call them "Panda" and "Tiger" expect call the black and white one "Tiger" and the tabby "Panda" so all your friends get confused.
