Potty Time Elmo
I heard about this on RadioU (gotta love Laine-Chan). The push button when you press it is meant to say "Uh-oh! Who has to go?!", but instead, this and a few others say "Uh-oh! Who wants to die?!".
More like "who would want this?", if you ask me. Unless it's some big collectable...

I heard about that a few days ago on Countdown. Keith had a few cutting remarks. Somehow this story has popped up in my news sphere almost every day since I first heard it. I hope the company that made the product gets punished somehow. I may not like Elmo (Grover is way cooler), but that is just a sick joke gone way too far. Opinion over. Time for a Simpsons quote to happy things up a bit.
Grandpa is working at a Krusty Burger.
Grandpa: Now that the boss is gone, lets have some fun. Takes off his dentures and puts them in a bun. Ever see a hamburger that can take a bite out of you?
Grandpa starts laughing. His coworker takes the denture-burger, wraps it and give it to a customer.
Customer: Ow! This hamburger took a bite out of me.

I think what it may have been was maybe some guy's idea of "funny".
I didn't know it was THAT old.

That's messed up. At least they were pulled from stores...
As to who would want it, I think there are some weird peeps out there who collect toys gone wrong. I remember back in the day (10 years ago?) when there was a snack time Cabbage Patch Kid doll that started eating children's hair. Big controversy but as they were doing a recall, people went crazy and they were sold out almost instantly. ?? I'd assume the only reason to own a hair-eating doll would be to collect them...Kah-raziness.

I just saw the video of it on CNN.com, and although I can imagine it was terrifying for the woman involved, but it does just seem funny. Next we'll have the Sado-Masochistic Barney & Friends.

What exactly was the point of posting that? Congratulations if it aired near you; you seem proud.
But in all seriousness, it may be old to YOU, but not to someone else, like me.

And me. I just found out about it today thanks to Laine (CHICKEN GIRL! </end spaz>) on RadioU.
Hm. Perhaps maybe Laine told before and I watching something else.

Oh come on people. It's ELMO. Saying "who wants to die?!" That right there is FUNNY. Now I want to go buy one.

xD Hahahaha. Oh jeez, I needed to laugh.
Seriously though, that is kinda weird, but I think it's funny simply because I can't see Elmo saying that.
