The Non-Neopets Gloat/Cry Thread!

Tue Feb 21, 2006 3:26 am

I've been trying to come up with ideas for interesting threads from completely out of the blue.... and I was trying to think of interesting things in my life that other people may also enjoy talking about.... and then i realised that there were SO MANY things that were interesting, but not worth making a thread about!

So, this is the non-neopets gloat/cry thread. This is where you can come and tell your interesting two cents of the day or the week.... because everybody has something they are happy about, or need to complain about, but of course, its usually not thread-worthy! To start it off, here are a few things of mine:

GLOAT! :D - I am in speech, and i am a storyteller, and I have got 4th place in my past two tournaments.... out of about 30 or 40 other storytellers each time, so thats pretty good!

CRY  - I live in Minnesota..... and yeah, its cold. But out of NOWHERE, it got REALLY cold. The HIGH for the day was -5 three days in a row. On Valentines day, my car started, stayed on for 5 seconds, and then shut off on me. Apparently, I flooded it. Well, I was dressed up as cupid for valentines day (im a weird drama kid who dresses up for EVERYTHING) so i had to run 6 blocks to school in red silk boxers, tights, sandals, angel wings, and a white sleeveless T-shirt (with a big sash!) and it was SNOWING and COLD... but i didnt have time to change because i would have been late... and i cant afford staying after school because of my busy schedual.
Then, a few days later, my car started allright, and I drove it for about two minutes, and then I stopped for a red light... and my car shut off on me again. And this is at the busiest interesction in my town. Right in the middle of everything.. and the light turns green and my car wont turn on.... so i get out of it in my Taco Bell uniform and signal people to go around me.... but luckily, i called my dad, who taught me how to push the acceleration ALL the way, then turn my car on, wait a few seconds, and then let go... and my car started. *phew* but that SUCKED. yeah. Its cold here. Its hurtning my poor car.....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

who else has gloats/cries? A great opportunity to gloat about getting braces off, or cry about getting them on! Did you gain/lose a boyfriend/girlfriend? Make it into the school play? Did you lose a family member? Did you get a new puppy? Gloat and cry here! Yayyyyyy! Wahhhh!

Also... this IS a place for people to vent... or to tell what they are proud of! So be sure that as you are posting your own gloats and cries.... also comment on some of the things in other people's lives!

Gloat - I'm doing well in my courses this semester.

Cry - I'm just a bundle of feelings and one thing after another is hurting me more than just making me feel better. It's confusing.

Gloat: My grade in AP Government for this past six weeks was a 79.13, and my teacher said she would try and find that extra 4/10ths of a point so I can get an 80. Also, tomorrow I don't have to go to school until 12:30 pm because I'm a senior and I don't have to take TAKS (state standardized test).

Cry: One of the colleges I applied to put everybody on a waitlist because they had more people apply than they have room for, and I won't be notified until at least April 15th. This is bad because I used a 'Snap App', which means I didn't have to pay a fee or write an essay, and I was supposed to get an admissions decision in two weeks - and that was January 15th-ish!

I was wondering why we didn't have a thread like this.

Gloat: Finally paid for next quarter, all US$ 1415 of it.

Cry: Thanks to rare, 400 level classes I may not be able to have a clss with my sister like we hoped. We've benn trying to have a class together for 4 yrs

I'm going to quote something that was posted the last time this was brought up:
Just a note, and especially because questions about having a Misc Disc Gloat & Cry are raised so often in PPT Discussions & Questions:

This won't be stickied, but if it does reach 10 pages, it'll be split. It can be used just like the Gloat & Cry in the Neopets board, just for real life stuff, instead of Neopets stuff. Unlike the one for Neopets, if you have a bigger gloat or cry, and want to make a seperate thread for it, you should feel free to. This thread'll mainly be for the small stuff/anything you don't feel like making a seperate board for.

Those who are posting limit it to one post a day to prevent spamming, otherwise this thread will be delt with.

C: Talking about cars, I think mine needs a new battery or something. o.o lol

Whenever I try starting it, it struggles to start up and eventually sputters out and dies. I'm really hoping it's not starting due to the cold weather. Paying for a new battery definitely won't be any fun. =\

Aw Ammer =(. I hope you feel better.

Gloat - I'm happy? xD

Cry - Haven't seen someone I want to see for like two weeks. I also have a math contest tomorrow which I'm sure to fail. Plus, I don't know which courses to pick for next year, and I don't want to think about that yet. And Computer Science class is so boring.

Haha, thanks. I am feeling better, I was just on drugs when I wrote that.

Gloat: I am doing well this semester so far. I am on a diet and also doing pretty good.

Cry: I procrastinate a lot so it might not last. :(.

Tue Feb 21, 2006 10:46 pm

Cry: I just made really nice graphic that I liked and my computer froze and I didn't save it! :(
I HAVE to do three essays by friday and I haven't started. I hate myself for not doing it already!!

Gloat: I went shopping yesterday and got a gorgeous skirt in a sale for £5!

Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:08 pm

Gloat - I got the internet back! It went down all yesterday and all of today and we got it back up tonight. My mom said that to me and my brother losing the internet would be like losing a limb to us XD

Cry - I did a full day at work today and it's knocked me for six. I'm really not used to it and now I feel drained and tired and...bleh. And my legs ache really bad as I work in a charity shop and we don't get to sit down that much. And I'm really used to sitting on my bum all day at the pc XD

Cry - I have a sore throat. I've had it for weeks and weeks. Sometimes I won't get it for a while and then it gets really bad. Yesterday I couldn't even talk when I woke up. It was horrible x____X

Gloat - I have a Pot Noodle Horn and it's fun to blow. I like to blow it down my dad's ear when he's fallen asleep on the sofa. Mwhaa!

Cry - I fell out with someone online and they apparently really hate me. They blocked me from everything in order to stop me from talking to them. I tried talking to them but they don't want to know.

Cry - I'm crying because I have more cries than gloats.

Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:14 pm

Cry- Someone said something about something I made that made me need to have a moment. For ten seconds or so I swear I was murderous. Then I calmed down and yelled a lot, it was quite relaxing. But it still hurts, considering said person has no reason to be so awful to me, considering something I did for them and their friends a while back. Some people never change, I guess.

Inbetween- I'm waiting to hear for someone and it's really nervewracking. If they don't have the exact response I want, I will be completely and totally torn apart for probably several days, stupid as it sounds. It's something I've wanted before and have tried for before, but I've never gotten it, and I worked so hard for it this time... and it would be devastating to not get it.

Gloat:

I broke my finger! It didn't even hurt!

I've always wanted a cast. :P

Cry: Now I won't be able to play sports. :(
